This is a story about a proud but peaceful people who live in a small land. They are forced to fight for freedom when a powerful neighbouring country invades them. The people hide in underground cities and they have an excellent organised resistance army who live in hidden dwellings deep in the forest. There are many brave heroes and a few heroines here too, among them are Sammie, her twin brother, her best friend and an older wise man who knows some magic tricks. Sammie and her brave friends plan to end the invasion in a very surprising and dangerous way.The second part of the book is poems supposedly written by Sammie as she takes on the role as wife and mother.

This is an adventure story. It is about Richard who is forced to flee from his country because he is accused of a murder that he did not commit. The corrupt government disliked him because he spoke out against injustice. He travels across the great forest to a neighboring country. Here, in the forest, he meets up with a young lady called Anna who has run away from her tyrannical father. They are joined by an older man called Mithra who has some magical powers. Richard finds a mystical sword in a cave in the forest. The three travellers journey on to make a new life for themselves. But Richard is troubled by dreams that tell him that he must return to his country with Mithra, his best friend Michael and his special sword to fight the corrupt government there. In the second part of the book are some poems by Anna that reflect her beliefs.

The first part of this book is a story about a family who are searching for a hidden treasure. The father of the family, Mike has returned after many years living abroad with his teenage son.
