In the race of food security for fast expanding human population, the natural resources were overused and exhausted that resulted into tumbling of efficient gains and swelling of challenges of climate change and natural resources depletion. Livestock earns a priority place in achieving the global goals of food & nutritional security, and the demand for meat and milk in 2050 is projected to grow by 73% and 58% respectively. Livestock production in India is not efficient and livestock products have high carbon foot prints. Therefore, the precision, smart and technology driven livestock farming is indispensab-le that must integrate all the techniques, skills, knowledge and innovations to produce safe, sufficient and sustainable food of animal origin with minimum environmental impacts. Realising the dire need for future livestock farming to be smart and technology driven, the present book was launched that encompasses chapters dealing with the emerging technologies in the field of reproduction, biotechnology, bioengineering and stress management in livestock. This book will serve a technical guide for researchers, academicians, planners and livestock farmers.
