    Spunky Sprout is a puppet created by Wobine Ishwaran The puppet's adventures take him from the North all the way tot the most Southern point of India. During his travels he visits most remarkable monuments and historical sites. His cheerful character and funny rhymes amaze the people he meets, and through their hospitality and kindness, the puppet was able to see much and return home safely to Toronto. The Author Wobine Ishwaran is a retired pre-school teacher. She often enjoyed using puppets as a teaching tool. Having more time after her retirement , she started writing stories for young children, the children she so enjoyed reading to. Wobine lived in India from 1960 until 1966, with her husband, their two children and extended family members, before immigrating to Canada. After many years Wobine returned to India to visit family and friends, and this story originated through her nostalgic travels.
