Has your heart been broken? Has something terrible happened-or not happened-that feels like it has shattered your life in a million pieces? If so, you are not alone. Jesus' heart was also broken. He was battered, betrayed, abandoned, and rejected, but He emerged victorious. That's good news for us, because it means we can emerge victorious when our heart has been broken too! This wound will be high maintenance, I fear, and take a while to heal. It's so vulnerable, an area of the body that's so active and important for everyday life. We're all doing what we can-short of wrapping it in bubble wrap-to steer clear of it.It can be really hard to protect a wound from further damage from outside influences. That got me thinking about other kinds of wounds.Deep wounds that are just as vulnerable to daily life but aren't front and center for all to see and tiptoe around.

The events surrounding the tragic, senseless death of George Floyd in Minneapolis have put a spotlight on the injustice that exists in our country. We know many of you are hurting, exhausted, angry, and discouraged right now-we are, too. What is taking place is further proof we must stand together, push for change, and help build a more inclusive society. It's not only what we believe, it's also at the core of the most basic principles of human rights and justice. We know that all of us has a role to play in changing the future by making a positive impact on racial equity. We also know it takes more than talk-it takes action.

It came to me that I was called to war and I should pray with the level of authority given to me by God. So I told him that he too is called to war and he most pray each day of his life. People who claim to have seen these Shadow People all share similar stories of being in the dark in bed and seeing something that is darker than their pitch-black room. They are said to be human figures that you first see out of the corner of your eye. Usually these presences are seen as just silhouettes, other accounts recall them to be appearing male wearing hats and with long coats but still have no discernible face or features. While they do sound to be kind of like ghosts, they are quite different.

Elizabeth Loftus' 1979 work explains why people sometimes remember events inaccurately and how this simple fact has a profound impact on the criminal justice system, especially given the value placed on eyewitness accounts. Although, as these are based on memories that are not always reliable.

In their 1990 work, Gottfredson and Hirschi introduce a new and comprehensive theory of crime. At the time, crime researchers tended to focus on environmental factors that led to crime, not on the criminals themselves, and were inclined to think about crime only from their particular academic perspective.
