About The AuthorChaplain Allen recently retired after a combined 32 years of Federal Service. He and wife, Josephine, have reared six adults and enjoy grandparenting four little ones. His tours include, the Veterans Affairs, Armed Forces (U.S. Marine Corps/National Guards). In 2004, he suffered a career-ending injury while mobilized to the Global War on Terrorism (Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom, OEF/OIF).His pastoral ministry spans thirty years; licensed to preach in 1993 and ordained as pastor in 1995. From, October 2012 to June 2023, Dr. Allen was commissioned as a VA Chaplain at the WJB Dorn VA Healthcare System in Columbia, SC. Subsequently, he worked as a clinical chaplain to the Durham VAHCS in the Community Based Outpatient Centers (CBOC) in Greenville, Morehead City, and Raleigh, NC. Allen specialized in providing spiritual care to trauma survivors (Veterans diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, moral injury, unreconciled grief, and military sexual trauma. As clinical chaplain, he mentored Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Interns and Residents assigned to the Durham VAHCS's CPE Program. In addition, he was consecrated as a Bishop in the Worldwide Fellowship of Independent Christian Churches and was appointed as the National Chaplain.Dr. Allen is a Board-Certified Chaplain with the National Association of Veterans Affairs Chaplains (NAVAC) and holds an Ecclesiastical Endorsement by the Coalition of Spirit-Filled Churches of Norfolk, Virginia. He received a Master of Divinity from Shaw University Divinity School (in 2011) and Doctor of Philosophy from Newburgh Theological Seminary (in 2020).
