A cat is a unique animal, considered domestic, but trying to convince the cat it's domesticated would reveal a different story. The characters are confronted with the inevitable question of, "Do we really know who our neighbors are?" - as murders and other suspicious events occur and befall individuals within the small hamlet of Springer, PA. The tale's nefarious undertakings and the reevaluating of past relationships and cherished rapports, animal and human alike, leads to an adventure through the depths of the deranged as well as the surreal. Throughout the novel's drama the one constant, the prodigious invariable that's consistently woven throughout the account is the endearing and relentless presence of the cat, Mr. Charlie.
