Agnes Cromwell had lived on her mountain in Gentry Hills, California for close to thirty-years. During that time, she had been haunted by a monster that had stalked her, causing the older woman to live in fear. She said the beast was a large vicious cougar that was impossible to kill, yet she was the only person that had ever seen it. For several years, cowboys following the rodeo circuit disappeared from Gentry Hills, never to be seen again. Could it have been the cougar on Agnes' mountain that was responsible?
Meadow Rayne was a fifty-four-year-old woman, who had been living the life of a recluse for twenty-five years. It was the life that she chose, away from the rest of the world. She lived in a log cabin high up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, a place that was difficult for others to reach; the way that Meadow had meant for it to be. Life was perfect until a turn of events sent her life into a spiral, tainting her home and the life she had built. He had found her and now he was coming to destroy her. Would Meadow be strong enough to survive? Could she recover from the chaos that would transpire over the course of the previous six months? Would she ever be able to find peace again?
