If you are looking for poetry to introduce to a thoughtful soul, a lover of poetry, kids, schools, and humans in general, it is great to start with The Fragments of my mind: the delicate lines to this place and time, by Steve Anc. It's all about hope, hopelessness, love, self-care, power, fame, war, peace, and death. It also displays the beauty of poetry as part of wordplay, and it is also important to know that the poet (Steve Anc) recognizes and explores that aspect in this anthology. The touchstone of the old and modern literature has been utilized in this anthology and its best criterion for judging it is how the poet learned the art of blending it with modern literature within these pages.

In school, I argued with the literature instructor over what makes a poem "good." I can't remember who won the debate, but I rarely give up. His opinion was a "good" poem had precision and order. I advocated that a "good" poem has emotion. This is the first work I read by Steve Anc. He is a precise, literary writer who writes with emotion to the point of abandonment. His few words move you and make you feel. For me, this is what I want from poetry, an instant gratifying escape from the day. Hannah J. Brussard, Pittsburgh, PA. Written by a man who saw the day his father died. Written by a man who saw rain with thunder and lightning. Written to the man, who could read between the lines; who had felt the pain of the loss of a loved one at one time or another. He who could purchase spare time to ponder on the reason for living. He who sits on the seat of now with the touch of memory of after now. He who remembers the merriment and the memory after the merriment. Written to a man with either a church or a creed.Written for all men regardless of birth. By free or fair, live for now with a fair heart, for the joy of life is in now and the pain of the dead is in the grief. Reviews "I just read Ode to the Moon and Hope, and the intro of your book and had to have a little cry...you know that I lost my mother three years ago? It touched that part of me, so seen from art's point of view, you did very well." Brigitte Gerlach, author of Pteridophyta and Autumnfire, Germany Thank you for sharing this wonderful book of poetry with me. I lost my best friend at the beginning of Covid, and it's been very difficult. I enjoy reading poetry from other poets' points of view. You did an excellent job. 5 stars

Here is a book that leaves a footprint on the heart. I am fine: don't read this poem is one of those deep, sad, and metaphorical poetic books that are supposed to be read with unbroken concentration. Cleverly, each poem introduces answers to lots of ever-asked questions on peace, mental health, humanity, and self-love and the poet ( Steve Anc) had you in mind during the entire writing process. Also, I am fine: don't read this poem is filled with broken pieces, ugly truth, and lots of lines for those that have been mentally misunderstood. The mood of some poems becomes much darker more intense and hard-hitting as you read. Finally, this book can also serve as peace for many souls, strength for the fading eyes, and self-care for the forgotten.
