Domestic violence has had deep roots in human culture for as long as we can remember. With the coronavirus pandemic, domestic partners and families are left to spend more time together at home. Being in such close quarters for such a long time may inevitably result in increased stress levels. And with nowhere to seek solace, time apart, and/or protection, this raises the question of whether partners who live in the same house are more inclined to harm each other emotionally, physically, and otherwise. When it comes to this global pandemic, everything has been turned upside down, lives have been changed, people are terrified, and relationships are put to the test. Written in June 2021, this book looks at the relationship between COVID-19 and domestic violence in both heterosexual and same sex relationships in developed and developing countries, while also examining the available help for domestic violence during COVID-19.
