Coaches have great opportunity to intentionally re-introduce play into sport. A creative approach can accomplish significant progression in conditioning and skill development simultaneously with allowing athletes to feel like kids on a playground, dashing about with wild abandon. Occasionally replacing the "On the line" directive with a game or activity that achieves the same conditioning goals can go far in creating a joyful and fun environment. However, while activity can achieve a physical goal, activity can also teach important character trait lessons. All it takes on the coach's part is intentionality and creativity, and this book seeks to serve that purpose. Because the best coaches coach the "whole" athlete, they will look for opportunities to influence the 2nd and 3rd Dimensions in addition to the 1st Dimension. Providing these kinds of interactions will be beneficial to the individual, the coach, the program, and the forward progress of the team. This book contains over fifty activities, each with a different purpose. The rationale behind every activity is clearly delineated, along with a list of supplies (if needed), set up requirements, suggestions on how to verbally present the activity to the team, and lastly, questions you may wish to ask in discussing and synthesizing the principles the activity offers.
