This edited book highlights the multifunctional role of the ubiquitous molecule, melatonin in crop plants. The major focus of this edition is to provide a comprehensive insight into the key focus is on Melatonin mediated alleviation of abiotic stresses and pathogens infection. The inception of melatonin as an animal hormone and the subsequent discovery of its multifaceted function in the animal system has revolutionized the research on this penial hormone. Agricultural Economics plays a very important role in analysing any agro based enterprises using economic principles.This book presents a detailed comparative economic analysis of Direct seeded rice technology vs. traditional transplanting method of rice cultivation in Haryana (India).Rice being a staple food of more than half population of world is grown mainy by transplanting method in Haryana and India also . Traditional method is very labour and water consuming method. This study, by using primary data, analyse how much water and labour efficient the Direct seeded rice (DSR) technology is as compared to trans-planted rice (TPR) method.The study shows that net return in DSR technology is higher as compare to transplanted method.The subject matter has been presented in simple language ans is supported with latest data.This book will be helpful for not only policy makers and farmers but also for research workers for further research in this direction.
