It wasn't until he reached college and learned what it meant to be depressed.Suppression leads to depression and Camden, NJ has been suppressed for all 25 years of Quashon's life. Quashon was making the best of horrible situations in Camden instead of looking for a better situation. He didn't believe there was a better situation.Those days of him making the best of the worst lead to his collection of poems "Lost In The Mayes" (6Lit. 2018). Being Hope presented OutsideLookingOut LLC.#SucidePreventionIn his young life Quashon Mayes has lost two dear friends to suicide, and numerous other friends to the streets. With suicide being at an alarming high rate, according to Quashon Mayes a history major, he realized as people we have been attacking suicide poorly. We should not aim to make people aware to suicide, what we want is to prevent it. One guaranteed way to help prevent suicide is by being hope or being a good person for no reason.Let's make the world a better place. Together. Let's be the hope we want to see.

Words have value. Even the words we deem as meaningless. If it was said it meant something in one way or another. The universe is massive. The words you say maybe words someone else needed to hear. Words bring us together. OutsideLookingOut values words.At OutsideLookingOut we know TFWY (The Future Was Yesterday) we think the internet is apart of the future. The internet brings people together. The internet closes the gap between curious and knowledgeable.Even then we don't know where the internet is going. We have yet to predict the future but we know as long as there are words there will be books. We want our words to be around forever so we take our internet words and put them in books...just in case. #OLO4ever.

Imagine growing up in Camden. All of the income coming into the house is through one person and the income is so the people in the house are able to stay in the house. Vacations don't come often.Sometimes in order to get out of the hood one has to use their imagination.
