Peggy Lee has been entrancing audiences for over half a century, starting with her first big break in Benny Goodman's band in 1941. With hits including "Fever", "Manana", "It's a Good Day" and "Why Don't You Do Right?" her sultry swing-beat style secured her a place Top Ten in the '40s, '50s and '60s. This book reveals her life story.
The inevitable will always be. No matter how good your life is or will become, there will always be something to deter you. Your mom turned her back on you, knowing someone was molesting you. Your parents practically handed you over to someone who wanted to exploit you. There's new neighbors moving into the neighborhood - you no longer want to reside in the area, because of their cultural background, their skin color. How are you going to handle this? What are you going to do? Your children, your grandchildren are in a school system, that's showing you, better than they could tell you, that, they're not going to do much. It's not their responsibility to promote a healthy, teacher/parent and student educational platform. There's someone in your circle that's refusing to get on their own two feet, or move out of your property - wanting or making you feel as if, as though it's your responsibility, your obligation to take care of them. A friendship that's weighing you down, wearing you out, is consuming you emotionally and mentally. A need for a special someone to love you, leaves you to making an ultimate sacrifice. Being ignored, being lied to all of the time, the pressure inside of you, greed and pride, are some of the overwhelming stories in this book. Can you relate to any of these stories? Go inside, travel within the stories on the pages within this book to find out. I dare you. I dare you to find a possible solution at the end of the story - that could be your story. Yes, the inevitable will always be - making a choice, a difference, a change or losing your damn mind. Which one are you willing to succumb to?
The writings on the pages in this book, consist of personal thoughts of a young lady, who has had some unpleasant experiences, with the fathers of her children. To be totally involved, as much as possible, in your children life, be it school, their sports, their love life, their mental state, physical state, or, whatever it may be, it's hard. Especially, when you're trying to have a life of your own, but, you stay focused. So, when the father comes from out of nowhere, after being a sparatic visitor, telling you how to raise his child and that he wants custody, or, visitation rights, yet, says he doesn't want to financially help support your child, you get bothered. But, you become flustered when the courts system show that they don't care, when they seem to feed into him making a mockery of his childs' life. That's what this young lady has experience. Just like her children has experience, their father not wanting to be involved in their lives, neither does his side of the family. The family ( especially the mothers of these fathers) seems to only want to be involve when the father sparaticly chooses to play the role, as daddy. While this mother chooses to take this time to tell whoever's interfering in her and her children life to go screw themselves.
