Where the Mountains Meet the Rainforest: A Delicious Christmas was written because we love the context of family and the dynamic of generations coming together. This book is a story within a story-a legacy within a legacy-and a product of love. Though I never knew my physical father, I knew that he existed. I never resisted the healthy options for earthly father alternatives. My sons knew both their biological father and grandpa. What a treat, joy, and blessing to watch. No one is perfect, though we only share the best parts. Each of our journeys has something special. To see my children embrace stories of old and get to witness a loving generation of their descendants is so deeply special to me. We offer our books to others through realistic fiction and relationships, which brings a rich perspective of the past and present into one story. It is phenomenal. This story was written over ten years ago and started as a poem. I feared making it a book until my late father-in-law approved it. He knew my heart was to share his legacy and to give our next generation something to look back on-as well as look forward to. It is a joy to use my gifts for the glory of God and the people most precious to me. I also seek to assist other families by sharing these gifts of our most intimate family times. We hope you enjoy the book, Where the Mountains Meet the Rainforest: A Delicious Christmas. It is based on the young life of my children's grandpa and the food prepared and served around Christmas in Guyana. On the other side of the mountains, Guyana is in South America, best known as British Guyana. It is not a Latino country but a West Indian island, having a variety of cultures, including Asian, Indian, African, Latin, and Caucasian. The rain forest is vast with life, has larger-than-life animals, and makes Guyana known for its beauty. Hence, the name of the book. So welcome to a world we have not known but known through our dear grandpa's eyes-whom we love and miss so much. Thank you for your purchase. We hope you will also check out our other books-Rough and Tough Afro Puff, Baby Brother Blues, and Becoming a Bedtime Routine Expert.
