The village of Bendalot is perched high in the mountains of East Asia, so remote and elevated that its inhabitants have never had contact with the outside world. All villagers possess the unique ability to bend metal with their minds, and merely touching it can cause it to bend-a phenomenon they consider entirely normal. Among them are Sandi and Handi, twins who one day encounter a strange new world when a little boy is blown into their village by a storm. They embark on numerous adventures to return him home, meeting a friendly and powerful giant and even traveling into space along the way. Driven by curiosity to explore more of the world around them, they utilize a magic carpet provided by the giant. This magical journey introduces them to various cultures and countries, including the delightful discovery of chocolate, a treat they had never tasted before.
