Gus Watt has gotten into a bit of a fix. Over the course of 24 hours he is introduced to the woman of his dreams - twice. He is unable to let either down and negotiates the pressures of both relationships, leading to a series of events more tangled than the hawthorn bushes that surround his caravan in the woods. Caravan is Martin Keaveney's 4th book after The Rainy Day, Delia Meade and The Mackon Country.
Farmers: young and old, cunning, foolish, greedy, generous, talented and forgotten. These and those belonging to them are gathered in this collection, sometimes clearly in Ireland?s west, but mostly in an unnamed landscape which shapes those often waiting for that rainy day to come. The Rainy Day is Martin Keaveney?s debut collection of short stories. Fiction has previously been published in Ireland, UK and US. Screen and stage credits include RTE and Scripts Ireland Playwriting Festival. He has a B.A. in English and Italian, an M.A. in English (Writing) and is currently completing a PhD. at NUIG (Creative Writing and Textual Studies). He was awarded the Sparanacht Ui Eithir for his research in 2016. He works as a creative writing lecturer/consultant.
