She's gone... Colt Nichols finally sees every single thing he did wrong that ended his marriage. Why Lex not only left him but left the club. Watching her slap her best friend and leave with another man revealed just how far they all pushed her to get to this point. But when the man she left with stumbles into the clubhouse, bleeding and mumbling about Lex being kidnapped, Colt fears it may really be too late this time to come back from everything he did wrong. The race is on... Lex Nichols wakes up in a dark room strapped to a cot after being attacked and kidnapped. While she may not be alone, everything she suspected about the Slasher's next plan turned out to be right. It doesn't help the leader proves she once again attracts the crazies. Lucky her.The club isn't in a good place to put the pieces together to save them, and she knows their only hope of getting out of this alive is to formulate their own plan. But even if Lex escapes, she's a woman without a club. And she's guaranteed a target on her back. She also can't shake the feeling she knows the one man who keeps his face covered around them, and the only reason for that doesn't bode well. Leadership changes can be hard... Chicago can't stand constantly being questioned and railroaded by the Griffin's Beach charter, and he refuses to step aside this time. But when his pride takes over, and he risks the lives of their women, he doesn't have much of a choice. When it comes to light one of the kidnappers happens to be one of their own, someone Chicago brought into the club himself, will he find himself on the outside once and for all?
Who would ever think a care package from Hell could cost him everything? Colt Nichols is left to deal with the aftermath following his series of terrible decisions. Anger. It's the only emotion Colt feels. The ghosts of his fallen club brother and his real brother haunt him, telling him the truths he ignores. On top of that, he feels like he's losing everyone he thought he could depend on. At least he still has the club, even if most of the women hate him? Sometimes stepping back is the only way to gain perspective. Lex Nichols had no other choice. Colt made all the decisions, and she was left being the bad guy to everyone else. No matter how much she wanted to shout everything from the rooftops, her need to protect him, and the club, has been ingrained in her since she was a little girl. She was raised to be the perfect old lady, wasn't she? The war is just beginning. The turmoil between the Deranged Drifters and the Savage Slashers they thought they'd put to bed after making some necessary changes to the Slasher officer line-up seems to be back in full force. This time, they're not sticking around Black Valley. And they have their sights set on more than just the club members. And this war may cost them everything.
Battle lines are clearly drawn. When Colt Nichols holds a not-yet twenty-four-year-old Casey Bond in his arms, dead after sacrificing himself for Colt, he can't help the guilt washing over him. He knows he should feel grateful, but memories from the past resurface, threatening to pull him into a true Colt-fashion downward spiral. Too much time alone does no one any good. Lex Nichols finds herself spending far too many nights alone. It seems all she does lately is wait and ignore the fears creeping up inside of her. She always tells everyone to follow their instincts, but she's always been better at giving advice than following it. Until something happens to prove her gut right. She knows she can no longer ignore the truth, and she has to do something. But with two small children, what exactly can she do? V is for Vendetta, only no one knows why. The Savage Slashers have a bone to pick with the Deranged Drifters in Black Valley, and no one has a clear reason as to why. But as the attacks cause a loss of inventory and increase their already too high body count, it's clear something has to be done. Something drastic. But how do they defeat an enemy when they don't know what they want or why they're so hellbent on taking them out?
