**WARNING: This book takes a drastic departure from Christian doctrine regarding the man known as Jesus Christ and offers an alternative set of facts regarding his life and teachings based upon what we currently know about the psychological and emotional effects of bullying and mobbing behaviors on the mind of the person who is the target of these behaviors. The systemic bully-bystander-enabler-target model of behavior that I describe in my book, "The Evolution of Good and Evil," underpins all instances of bullying and mobbing, including that of Jesus. His enlightened teachings were at odds with the authoritarian Pharisees who ran the Jewish community. Jesus was essentially a rabbi who went rogue when he decided it was his purpose to teach the true meaning of the scriptures instead of the legalistic interpretation that gave the Pharisaic power structure the agenda it needed to keep the Jewish population under its thumb enforcing Mosaic law through the top-down hierarchy of the Temple. I do not treat Jesus' story as a religious story in this book. I treat it as the very real story of a man who was working within a corrupt religious environment where the politics of power took priority over the truth. By any religious or moral standard, Jesus should have been defended and protected. Instead, the religious leaders of his day made people perceive him as a criminal deserving of one of the most horrific methods of execution ever devised by mankind just so they could get their win and protect their turf. They turned the tables on Jesus and to do so, they had to turn over truth itself. They used the strategies of mobbing, which have been identified by Heinz Leymann, to make their actions of killing a righteous man appear reasonable to the general public. Although their actions were none of those things, they got away with the killing by using a process of role reversal that is common to all mobbings, whereby the innocent target is made to look guilty and the guilty gets off scot-free because they are perceived as the saviors of the situation. I incorporate writings outside of the New Testament which have been discovered and are now available to us to create a cohesive narrative of what I believe happened to Jesus and his legacy as an interpreter of the Old Testament - whose teachings would have organically brought all people together under the umbrella of a common humanity. It has been hard for me to write about Jesus from the standpoint of thoughts and emotions we all have as human beings. I still hold on to the perfect, sinless, Son of God image of Jesus that was taught to me in church. I continue to feel pangs of guilt when I try to interpret his words and actions on the human level. The voice of my Sunday School teacher always comes back to me and makes me feel like it is a betrayal to the Christ to whom I owe so much. I have shed many tears and said many prayers during the course of researching and writing this book coming to a place in my mind where I am comfortable that what I have written comes from a place of logic, knowledge, experience and truth where agendas, doctrines and ideologies, religious or otherwise, have no place.

This book follows another book I wrote on God and our human consciousness titled, The Evolution of Good and Evil. In that book, I establish that the Holy Trinity, as defined by Jesus and the Old Testament prophets, is the whole of the human mind. In this book, I seek to show how this central theme of the Bible was corrupted to make way for the creation of a new religion called Christianity. The Apostle Peter and the saint named Paul broke the cohesiveness between the Old Testament and Jesus and not in the good way that is often labeled as the New Covenant. They destroyed eons of knowledge about the human mind and human nature contained in the Bible, which Jesus was clarifying for us so that we could apply it in a very tangible way to our own thinking and behavior. It was the Apostle Peter who conjured up the notion of a holy Spirit that is separate and apart from our own human spirit of life which Jesus referred to as the kingdom of heaven within, but it was Paul who ran with it to attract Gentiles to his churches. (Luke 17:21) Peter and Paul could not have spread their holy Spirit form of religion if they had not changed people's perceptions of what both Jesus and the prophets taught. This book shows how the men who were made saints by the Christian church used the ego-conscious strategies of Adam and Eve in the Garden to sell a mythology of an external spirit who invades our bodies with a simple declaration that we believe in Jesus. It was the mythology of Peter and Paul, along with Paul's list of dos and don'ts, that made me leave the church of my youth once I was out of high school and it was the real Jesus whose legacy and teachings they destroyed in favor of building their churches that brought me to the truth of myself when I was a woman in my fifties. Knowing the truth saved me. Truth is everyone's salvation because it brings us home to reality through the fog of lies, false assumptions, beliefs and doctrines foisted upon us by people just like Peter and Paul. Truth is not the enemy. It is the answer. The process of understanding Peter and Paul was similar to the process of understanding the true nature of good and evil that I underwent while writing The Evolution of Good and Evil. I have found that the process of approaching the Bible with a realistic view of human nature makes everything clear in terms of its message. Once I began interpreting the Bible in terms of our human mind which Genesis 1:26 says is made in the image of God, it was like untangling a huge ball of knotted twine. All the stories and characters came together in a cohesive narrative which describes the nature of our human consciousness and the relationship between our thinking and our behavior. We do not need religious teachers directing us to an external god in three forms that has never existed. We need psychiatrists and psychologists to give us the framework that is sorely lacking in studying a book whose sole focus is the human mind. When Peter and Paul separated spirit from the human being and made it into something we can choose to accept or reject for purposes of our eternal salvation, they replaced reality with fantasy. They steered their followers in the wrong direction while telling them they were saving them. Simply stated, Paul's letters take a detour from the truth and to the extent that Christianity has adopted his doctrine, it too has taken a detour from the truth. Of course, it goes without saying that my interpretation of Paul's writings conform to a world view I have formed based on what I believe the Bible teaches us about our human nature of good and evil. Although I believe my world view conforms to the true teachings of the prophets and Jesus, it is up to the readers of this book to decide for themselves what world view they choose to hold.

In the complex and multi-layered process of migration and identity-building, classical migration theories and approaches of transnationalism seem no longer able to grasp how belonging and home are to be found in movement. This ethnography leads the reader into the lives of five Jamaican women in Montreal; their daily practices and experiences, their spaces of communion, their memories and projections for the future. Lisa Johnson sheds light on the mobile biographies and migratory agency of her interlocutors by following the intricate mental and physical trajectories of their deep-rooted yearning to return home.

This book will help readers to better understand and address a strange social phenomenon: the apparent choice by some seniors to live in squalor.Seniors and Squalor examines the widespread and growing phenomenon of mentally competent senior citizens living in self-imposed squalor and refusing help, whether from health care professionals, government, or family. At this juncture of medicine and law, many families have experienced frustration, embarrassment, and heartbreak. The book also explores associated ethical questions, arguing that society can address the problem while respecting individual legal autonomy. For the theorist, this work provides the first in-depth treatment of legal and political theory questions undergirding the issue of self-neglect by seniors. It also underscores the importance of limited government, the necessity of granting American citizens their individual rights, and the critical need to stop classifying self-neglect as abuse. This is an ideal read for graduate and undergraduate students, scholars, practitioners of health care and geriatrics, social workers, and lawyers. Most importantly, this book will appeal to those directly affected by the problem-family, friends, and social work professionals-by giving them a broader understanding of this complex social issue and how to best respond to it.

Today's 18-to-40-year-olds make for a notoriously elusive group of consumers: they're savvy, sophisticated, and particular. They're all but immune to traditional advertising and have an instinctive sense of quality and fair pricing. Inundated with choices, they are drawn to brands that satisfy not just what they need, but what they crave. At the same time, these consumers are spending money like it's going out of style. Generation X has firmly refuted its slacker reputation and is nearing the height of its earning potential. Generation Y has more buying power than any previous generation of teens and twentysomethings. But how to win their attention and loyalty? In Mind Your X's and Y's, Lisa Johnson proves that the buying habits of 18-to-40-year-olds can be anticipated. Johnson, coauthor of Don't Think Pink and a leading marketing consultant, pinpoints the new rules of engagement for this Connected Generation. Based on her own and others' groundbreaking research, she looks into the heart of the Gen X and Y psyche to identify its ten core cravings -- for adventure, for high-concept design, for new families and social networks, and for personal storytelling, to name a few. This revolutionary book is packed with fascinating case studies of established and breakaway brands from every major industry, interviews with dozens of maverick thinkers and hundreds of consumers, and numerous revealing statistics. Johnson analyzes the scope of each craving to determine how it drives specific buying behaviors and offers relevant data that illustrate its impact.
