The KEAK Anthology is a collection of written works by the author with the addition of joint writings with her father, Artemios Korkidis. The book is divided into three sections, short stories, flash fiction, and excerpts from published works taken from five different novels.The Short Story section includes sixteen stories in various genres within fictional literature such as literary fiction, mystery, thriller, historical nonfiction and fiction, romance, science fiction, and realist literature. In Patient Zero we visit a world that could be a utopian society but with an error in programming easily became a Dystopian society. In Times Past we follow our protagonist as she tries to solve the sudden death of a newly hired man of the cloth, and in the process realizes that she is the intended victim. We The People of Earth takes us on a journey well beyond our known space. The Battle of Crete is a memoir written by a witness, Artemios Korkidis, of the battle during the invasion of Crete in 1941.The Flash Fiction section is the author's experimentation, under the persona of Katherine Elizabeth Ann Bell, with this form known as flash fiction. As noted by Reedsy Blog, "Flash fiction is a type of prose narrative that takes the form of very brief, self-contained stories. Its word count ranges from 5 to 1,000 words on average and tops out at 1,500. The form is unique in that, rather than focusing on plot or character development, it focuses on movement: each sentence (or even word) peels back a layer and progresses the story." The stories in this section are indeed short shorts. The first story entitled, The Blind Man, the Blind Woman is the longest at 1085 words. It is based on a dysfunctional romantic relationship. The Hug describes the power of closeness in 360 words. The Performance brings to the foreground the importance of self-confidence in 841 words.The Excerpts from Published Works section offers a glimpse into the stories of five published novels. The first three Josette, Daniel, and 'Josette and Daniel' are part of a Trilogy entitled "The Story of Josette and Daniel". The chapters are chosen to introduce the readers to the experiences and thoughts of its protagonists, Josette and Daniel.

The snow fell silently upon the ground. The streetlight reflected upon a small and slender shadow standing motionless in a window above the street. As the intensity of the light increased, aided by the slight brilliance of the moon peering through the storm, the shadow became a shape and form. She was now an older woman of ninety-five years of age, petite, slender. Her long hair fell straight over her shoulders and its white brilliance became more exuberant in the light cast upon it. Her checks were pale and drawn well into her face. Her features were ordinary except for her eyes. Big brown olives in the midst of soft white skin that time had not altered. Josette sat by the window in her favorite chair and watched the snow fall gently as she did so many years ago. She remembers this scene when she was 25 years of age. She has just returned to her childhood home from a successful classical piano world tour. It was snowing outside. As she glanced at the snow through the window of her childhood bedroom, she reflected upon her past. Josette and Daniel met at The Juilliard school, and she brings him back to life and in turn Daniel restores her faith in love. They fell deeply in love and cared for each other. Josette and Daniel fell in love indeed at first sight. Josette was a freshman at the Academy that barely spoke and was often alone. He took an interest in her and the rest developed. Their relationship grew over the four years they spent together. They became good friends and a strong bond of love developed between them. Although the parted upon Josette's graduation, they found each other once again and their love was rekindled. Over the many years to come Daniel reunited with his old friends, the children took on their passions in life, both Josette and Daniel retired, and time indeed passed. Daniel and Josette grew graciously old together. They spent a lifetime loving each other and being there when needed by their loving family. They enjoyed and shared the joy of their children and grandchildren. They enjoyed and shared the joy of their children and grandchildren. Josette sat by the window and watched the snow fall gently as she did so many years ago. Her Daniel was now gone. Thoughts of Daniel filled her mind and loss filled her heart.

The story begins with the birth of Daniel and his early life. Daniel's early years with Jonathan and Katherine Ellington were wonderfully loving years. His parents supported his love for music and encouraged his desire to play the piano. He soon became a virtuoso at the age of 7 years old. He was welcome to the international stage and his talents were renown. He attended the Royal Academy of Music and furthered his career and social life. He met two young men with similar passions and desire to succeed. They became his best friends and influenced his young life. As years passed Daniel confronted tragedy in his life, first with the death of the mother of his dear friends, and then with the loss of his own mother and loving father. He was able to move on from his loss and attended The Juilliard School for his undergraduate studies. Upon completion of his degree he continued his studies for a doctorate in music at Columbia University in NYC. As a young and inexperienced young man he was fated to meet and marry a young woman, Priscilla, that took advantage of his wealth. He was offered a teaching position at The Juilliard School and his fate changed when he met Josette Ann Harrington, a young and talented student. Their relationship grew over the four years they spent together. They became good friends and a strong bond of love developed between them. Daniel was named the Dean of The Juilliard School, a dream come true. Unfortunately for Daniel, Josette chose to leave to avoid terminating his dream through potential gossip. As Josette traveled the world and succeeded in her career, Daniel began to fail and fall into depression. A bottle helped him get through the day and his drinking led to the loss of all, his position at Juilliard, his marriage, and his ancestral NYC home. Priscilla saw to it that he had nothing left but to live on the streets of the city. A pastor of a local church, Father Edward found Daniel and helped him rediscover who he was. He followed Father Edward's teachings and example and became the "angel of the streets". With time he found his calling. He helped and adopted a young man in need of a father called David. He continued his work with the homeless and his music. He found Josette or more so she found him and they planned their life together

The only gift he has given this child has been the gift of classical music. She accepts this gift and makes it her life's passion. Edgecliff is her home until she is accepted and enters the Academy of Music. There she meets a gifted, yet lonely man named Daniel that saved her as she does him. Although married, he is alone. Josette brings him back to life and in turn Daniel restores her faith in love. They fall deeply in love and care for each other. Daniel's wife, Priscilla, is a socialite whose life does not include Daniel. Her father was well endowed financially and never would have chosen Daniel as his daughter's future groom. Daniel and Priscilla once were in love but their desires in life drew them apart. They never had children, although Daniel wished for it each and every day. Her life was filled with parties and other social obligations. The idea of a family, children, could never be imagined. If she did accept Daniel's desires, those children would have been devoid of a loving mother. These two separate lives continued for many years. Daniel built his prestigious Academy and focused on his music. She in turn built a strong foundation and presence in Society. They barely saw or spoke to each other. Josette and Daniel fell in love at first sight. Josette was a freshman at the Academy that barely spoke and was often alone. He took an interest in her and the rest developed. Priscilla knew of their love and was adamant about not allowing a divorce. It would disgrace her socially and would just not happen. Daniel, in turn, knew the price and was willing to pay it. Josette would not allow it. Upon graduation from the Academy, Josette left Daniel. She was accepted for a world tour for 5 years. Daniel's loss was so immense that he found solace at the bottom of a bottle. Eventually, Priscilla had no need for him and released him. But he has lost all, his position at the Academy, his career in music, his position in Society, his friends, and his home.As Josette remembers all, she hears the voice again and now realizes it is Daniel calling her. The urgency in the voice compels her to find him. Homeless and living with no future, she takes him home. She helps him to become the man he once was. Their future together is now secure.
