Tercera monografía de la serie "Aviones en Colores" de Aviation Art & History, que cuenta la historia de los Lockheed Martin F-16AM/BM y F-16C/D Block 50 de la Fuerza Aérea de Chile (FACh). En veinticuatro páginas se publica un resumen operativo de cada una de las partidas de F-16 adquiridas por la FACh, con detalles de su origen y despliegue operacional. Esta monografía se enfoca principalmente en los esquemas de pintura usados por los F-16 chilenos, detallando cada variación utilizada por estos aviones, incluyendo vistas laterales, inferiores y superiores, así como la incorporación de tablas de colores Federal Standard.

Aviation Art & History presents the first monograph in the series "Flight Units and their Aircraft". In this work, we offer a detailed journey through the history of the Aviation Group No. 2 of the Chilean Air Force, accompanied by comprehensive illustrations of its aircraft over its 93 years of existence. This distinguished operational unit stands as one of the oldest within the Chilean Air Force, and its legacy is significant in the country's aviation history. Highlights in its history include pioneering exploration flights in the southern region of Chile, the historic first overflight of Chilean Antarctica in 1947, the momentous expedition to Easter Island in 1952, the memorable round-trip journey from the continent to Antarctica in 1955, and numerous other noteworthy events that establish this unit as an essential reference in the history of Chilean military aviators.

Presentamos la primera monografía de la serie "Unidades de Vuelo y sus Aeronaves". En esta obra, ofrecemos un breve recorrido por la historia del Grupo de Aviación N° 2 de la Fuerza Aérea de Chile, acompañado por una detallada ilustración de sus aeronaves a lo largo de sus 93 años de existencia. Esta distinguida unidad operativa se erige como una de las más antiguas dentro de la Fuerza Aérea de Chile y su legado es trascendental en la crónica aeronáutica del país. Destacan en su historia hitos de gran relevancia, como los vuelos de los pioneros durante la exploración de la zona austral de Chile, el histórico primer sobrevuelo de la Antártica chilena en 1947, la trascendental travesía a Isla de Pascua en 1952, el memorable viaje de ida y vuelta desde el continente a la Antártica en 1955, y numerosos eventos destacados que consolidan a esta unidad como un referente destacable en la historia de los aviadores militares chilenos.

Third monograph in the series 'Aircraft with History' by Aviation Art & History, telling the story of the Dassault Mirage M-5MA Elkan No. 705 of the Chilean Air Force. In twenty-four pages, details of its construction and service for the Belgian Air Force (FAB) until its service in the Chilean Air Force (FACh) are published. This Mirage operated for almost twenty years in the FAB as M-5BA BA-37 in Squadron No. 1 and was retired from service in 1989. In 1994, it was modified by SABCA to the MirSIP standard to be sold to the FACh as M-5MA Elkan No. 705. The FACh assigned them to the Aviation Group No. 8, based mainly at Cerro Moreno Air Base, Antofagasta. In 2005, it participated in the CEIBO exercise, held in Argentina at Plumerillo Air Base, Mendoza. In 2006, it was retired from service along with the rest of the fleet and is currently preserved in the FACh Supply Wing, El Bosque Air Base.

Fourth monograph of the series "Airplanes with History" of Aviation Art & History, which tells the story of the Cessna A-37B Dragonfly No. 605 from the Chilean Air Force. Twenty-four pages publish details of its construction and service for the Chilean Air Force (FACh) up to its service in the Salvadoran Air Force (FAS). This Dragonfly operated 34 years in the FACh being originally assigned to the Aviation Group No. 1 at Los Cóndores Air Base in Iquique, facing crises with Peru in 1975-1976 and Argentina in 1978. In 1982 it was transferred to Aviation Group No. 12, stationed at the Chabunco Air Base in Punta Arenas, where it operated until December 2009, when it was deactivated and preserved in the Supply Wing at El Bosque Air Base. During its service in this unit, it operated in Aviation Group No. 3 at Maquehue Air Base in Temuco in 1992 and participated in the multinational exercise Crucex III in Brazil in August 2006. In 2014 it was sold along with nine other aircraft to the FAS, being registered as FAS 442 and integrated into the Fighter and Bombardment Group of the Second Air Brigade. This aircraft is still in flight and accumulates 42 years of service in the air forces of South America.

Tercera monografía de la serie "Aviones con Historia" de Aviation Art & History, que cuenta la historia del Dassault Mirage M-5MA Elkan No. 705 de la Fuerza Aérea de Chile. En veinticuatro páginas se publican detalles de su construcción y servicio para la Fuerza Aérea Belga (FAB) hasta su servicio en la Fuerza Aérea de Chile (FACh). Este Mirage operó casi veinte años en la FAB como M-5BA BA-37 en el Escuadrón No. 1 y fue retirado del servicio en 1989. En 1994 fue modificado por SABCA al estándar MirSIP para ser vendido a la FACh como M-5MA Elkan No. 705. La FACh los asignó al Grupo de Aviación No. 8, basado principalmente en la Base Aérea de Cerro Moreno, Antofagasta. En 2005 participó el ejercicio CEIBO, realizado en Argentina, en la Base Aérea de Plumerillo, Mendoza. En 2006 es retirado del servicio junto al resto de la flota y actualmente está preservado en el Ala de Abastecimiento de la FACh, Base Aérea El Bosque.
