In My Borrowed Angel, she shares her story including how twenty-three-year-old Jon, his wife, and their ten-month-old daughter were killed in a car accident in 1999. Numb with grief, Bush narrates how she and other family members began receiving messages from Jon. He asked that she help children. Reflecting on her experiences, Bush believes God loaned her Jon for a purpose. She's since started a foundation in honor of Jon, Macy, and Misty to help children who have major medical conditions
