This thesis explores the two investigations conducted after the fire, which resulted in recommendations to improve shipboard damage control. It found that most of these recommendations were successfully implemented, enhancing shipboard damage control capability. The thesis also discusses the factors that contributed to the successful implementation of these proposals. Additionally, it examines the unsuccessful improvement ideas and their implications for the Navy.
