(Wikipedia) Der Autor charakterisiert das hier vorliegende Werk folgendermaßen: "Dieses Werk ist ein metaphysischer Versuch im echtesten Sinne des Wortes, also nicht eine Erkenntnistheorie, die sich an Stelle der Metaphysik setzt; und zwar macht es den Anspruch Metaphysik 'als Wissenschaft' zu sein; es wird in wissenschaftlicher Strenge vom Wirklichen handeln." (Vorwort) Nachdruck der Originalausgabe aus dem Jahr 1922.

Auch war es mir lieb, einmal die Gesamtheit meiner Ansichten über das Leben in systematischer Form darstellen zu können für einen Leserkreis, welcher weiter als der eigentlich naturwissenschaftliche ist."
