Parras cargadas de racimos trepaban por entre el ramaje de los pinos; un vergel de rosas florecía bajo los plátanos; de trecho en trecho, sobre el césped, se balanceaban las azucenas; cubría los senderos una arena negra, mezclada con polvo de coral, y de un extremo a otro, en medio del jardín, la avenida de los cipreses formaba como una doble columnata de obeliscos verdes.
