Charlie, Toby, the yapping Pomeranian dog and Mimi are all based upon our pets. Each has developed a mutual trust and respect for one another. The rhythm of our animal's lives is much less complex than our own, but none-the-less as important to them as they are to us. Looking to see Charlie in the morning is as routine as getting a cup of coffee or putting on my socks. Eventually the cat door opens and he walks through, cold and damp. I often wonder where he's been all night, as I hold him close to warm him.
