My mother retired from teaching in 1988, and in 1990, both Mom and Dad decided to take a Mount Everest Adventure as guided by Mountain Travel (now Mountain Travel Sobek). A family friend and local mountaineering legend, Dee Molenaar, together with an additional bunch of hearty mountain trekkers, embarked on the trip which lasted from November 8th through December 4th and took them halfway around the world to the Khumbu region of Nepal. The author transcribes these never-before published memoirs for the curious reader.
