Mega-church Pastor, Robb Barker, is possessed by a powerful demon and its helpers. He had carelessly invited the demon into his soul as a means of gaining power and control over the church board. The demon eliminated all of the board members who were opposing Robb's plan for spectacular growth. Some went to jail, some quit, and some were killed. But after the demon arranges an accident, in which his wife is nearly killed, and one daughter paralyzed, Robb realizes that the demon is in control of his life and possesses him. His life is a mess, and he is faced with some tough decisions. Should he reject what he has been taught about the idea of demons being only a fantasy? Or should he accept the friendship and advice of another pastor who promises help through a process called deliverance and exorcism? Robb goes through one deliverance session during which the demon causes Robb's body to thrash wildly, curse vehemently and then throw up. The pastor explained that since Robb had invited the demon into himself it is very difficult to extricate, but it can be done and they need to persevere. Robb humbles himself in front of those whom he has hurt and begins the process of rebuilding his life; but first he has to rid himself of the malevolent demon. Desperate, Robb attempts a strategy of closing off all of the portals through which demons might have entered him. He travels to his childhood home, his college and seminary campuses and to the churches he first pastored. In each locale he goes through the process of attempting to free himself. In response, the cunning demon summons supernatural help and demonic attacks begin on Robb's wife and daughters. From Disneyland to the Grand Canyon to the Colorado Rockies the demonic attacks continue mercilessly. Finally Robb realizes he must go to the site of the original sin, the Garden of Eden to confront his ancient enemy and most formidable foe. The novel ends with demonic sponsored terrorist attacks and Robb's battle for
SEER - "The man who was going to die walked cautiously to the edge. He looked down the cliff face, across the talus slope, almost four thousand feet to the valley floor below. He smiled, looking forward to what was to come. He turned around and retraced the steps he had taken. Not knowing his actions would condemn him to Hell, he turned again, faced the cliff and began to run. ONE, TWO THREE, FOUR, JUMP!" So begins the novel SEER by Galen Daily. Robb Barker has asked a demon to help him gain full control over the mega church he pastors. Soon Robb's opponents are dead or in jail. He is on a roll, the alpha male. Here is a scene when Robb is taking control: "Robb, you're getting upset. What if we just leave her in place for a while until we know that you're back up to speed and operating all right? I know Joyce, and we can trust her." I was already angry and his last point just drove me over the top. "Don't tell me someone 'we' could trust," I yelled at him. "Someone you could trust." Takrit had already told me that Limes had worked as a bookkeeper for Grimsley and had recently been laid off due to the slowdown. Takrit also said they had an 'on again, off again' affair. I stood up from the table and leaned across at him, "I know she used to work for you, and I know you were screwing her. You just want to keep her around, and you want me to pay for your playmate. Screw you!" The last point exploded out of me and Grimsley looked stunned at the revelation.. He tried to get up out of the chair, but his strength seemed to fail him. He pointed to his jacket sprawled on the sofa across the room. "Robb, my pills." Takrit hissed in my brain, Don't. Grimsley made another attempt to get up, "Robb, please, my heart pills." Don't. I sat back down and watched Grimsley struggle to get out of the chair. Finally, by using both hands on the chair arms, he was able to heave himself up and take one step toward the sofa and his jacket. His l
