The encounter with God is a shocking and surprising event for most of us. We just weren''t expecting to sense the presence of God. But there it was, unnerving and unexpected, leaving us a bit bewildered as to what comes next. Some, perhaps the many, will simply shake it off and return to everyday life. But the few, realizing this was the ''real deal'', sense the need to look deeper, to chase after God as He moves on down the trail. This book provides the insights and wisdom of the many who have chased after God before you. They have left you clues along the way, if you know where and how to look. The trail is easy to spot, but sometimes difficult to trek. Nonetheless, for the brave hearts the reward makes every step worth the effort.Time to get going. God is already on the move...
Our world moves at blistering speeds demanding an equally blazing approach to just about everything. But, sooner or later, everyone, yes everyone, must slow down and catch their breath. Those failing to do so eventually burnout and are cast by the wayside by a world intolerant of those who can''t keep up. You simply must keep up. Seasoned vets of this fast-moving world have learned a secret to survival enabling them to sustain consistency and vitality across the decades. Their secret: A daily time of reflection and focus. The saints of old called it a discipline, a spiritual discipline, a habit, a deeply engrained pattern, strengthening and equipping from the inside out all those savvy enough to participate.  The guidelines for this pause are simple. Grab a cup of your favorite drink, carve out a few moments of uninterrupted seclusion and meet with old friends for a daily conversation about life, most importantly, your life. If you journeyed through the first volume of Mornings With Oswald, then the three of us, me, you and Oswald, have become good friends. If not, then we are soon to get acquainted. Oswald and I will join you each day for some frank conversation about what it means to trek after the Serving King in this insanely hectic world we live in. Be warned, Oswald and his constant companion, the Holy Spirit, can be brutally honest, to the point and  amazingly spot-on.  I am here to soften the challenge, but they are relentless. Nonetheless, after a few mornings gathered with the gang, your life will be radically altered.  Enough said. Time''s a wasting. Let''s roll.  The Serving King is already heading up the trail. Time for us to get on His heels. Trek on...
Most of us, focused intently on the device now guiding our lives, those precious mobile phones, occasionally bump into someone or something unexpectedly. Typically, we offer a polite, "Excuse me," and off we go. But what if you bumped into God? More to the point, what if God intentionally bumped into you, caught your attention for the briefest moment, challenged you to "Come on," and off God went? Stunned and a bit unnerved, you're left with that awkward decision, "Was that really God? What do I do now? Should I chase after God?" For many, so begins the unexpected chase after God. This book, the continuation of Chasing God (2017), provides the insights of previous chasers who bumped into God and felt the urge, perhaps, the need, to chase after God. The experiences of veteran God-chasers provide helpful and sometimes humorous musings into the chase after God. Their trail, well worn by countless God-chasers, is easy to spot but sometimes difficult to trek. Nonetheless, for the bravehearts, those willing to endure the challenges, the reward makes every step worth the effort. In the blink of an eye God is slipping through the crowd, bumping into others equally shocked, inviting them to follow along as well. Hurry, the elusive God is on the move again...
I first began meeting with Oswald Chambers in the early 1980s after strong encouragement from another friend. So Oswald and I began our morning chats, like all new acquaintances, cautiously and carefully. I soon realized I had stumbled onto a friend who would journey with me for the remainder of my life, which, of course, is a bit odd considering the fact he died in 1917, nearly 65 years before our first conversation. His book, My Utmost For His Highest, quickly became a guide for my journey, and countless others, into the Kingdom of God. Soon, he and I were regulars at the table with the King. Let me invite you to join our conversation. Don't be surprised if you soon find yourself looking forward to your own Mornings With Oswald...
