Following in the path of these efforts, Donald Peterson set out to write what he describes in his new introduction as a 'manifesto' for a 'scientifically grounded, practically effective professional psychology.'

"Twelve Years of Correspondence" is composed mainly of letters between Drs. Paul Meehl and Donald Peterson during the final 12 years of Meehl's life. The correspondence forms a story of the relationship, as well as a dialogue between two eminent clinical psychologists.
