Duran Buckler was 9 years old in 1958 when his mother bought him a lottery ticket which he placed in his pink piggy bank for safe keeping. Saving his ticket in bank marked the start of a period of difficulties for him and his family. For starters, a huge fire burns down Duran's family home, and unable to afford a new home, they moved in with grandpa. This fire failed to destroy Duran's piggy bank fire, but for some reason unknown to anyone, Duran repeatedly misplaced his toy and best buddies over the next several months. 'Now it is lost, now it's back again, 'and at other times, it was taken away only to be returned through strange circumstances. Duran never believed his ticket inside his piggy bank was a winner, but he still missed his friend Snorkie: the name he gave to it, during times was gone. It got to a point even he wanted his piggy bank gone, but just wouldn't, it just kept returning.In the meantime, the television reports the search for the winning lottery ticket, but each time the news was cast, Duran would not know the outcome. Many decades later, after many years of hardship, and disappointment, his long-lost friend Snorkie suddenly returned back into his life from the most unexpected of places, bringing with him a secret it has held for his friend for sixty years. This story follows a young kid of nine and his family through tumultuous years: from childhood to old age, during which time they experience all sorts of and down, unaware that the boys piggy bank had with it the secret to success sought after by all. And after sixty years, Old faithful, Snorkie the piggybank brought back hope and joy to his old friend and owner, and led him by hand into the future where affluence and satisfaction resides.
