NEW Positive and Non-Medical 'Fly on the wall type' Crohn's Book. Hi everybody, Brian Prendergast here, and this is my book that I know will help both existing and new people with Crohn's Disease, Colitis, and other Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, by reflecting on a real-life journey of a person (mine) who has been through it and is now sharing their experience to help people. Positive and Non-Medical It is like a 'fly on the wall documentary' of my own personal journey for about 40 years with Crohn's, and by reading it, you will hopefully spot something in your own life, that makes your symptoms worse, and be able to eventually learn how to combat it. From talking to people that got the book so far, it turns out we are all very alike in certain ways, and they were able to spot personality traits that I had, but they also had. I was able to change mine, and so did they. The book is non medical, but it brings you through my ups and downs and thankfully ups again! It mentions the medication I was on at the time, and the many procedures I had. From the messages I am getting, it turns out that existing Crohnies, apart from buying it for themselves, are also buying it for their partners, family members etc. to simply help them with awareness of what a daily reality is in the life of a Crohnie. Even though it's a serious subject, I made the tone of the book light hearted, as sometimes all you can do is laugh at our situations!It is NOT a 'moany' book, is intended to be written with a lighthearted tone, but will tell of good times, and also some bad times. Some people have told me, that when they are reading the book, it is like as if they are having a chat with me! About 90% have said they read it straight through from start to end in one go. Everybody has different symptoms and levels of sickness, so the aim of this book is for 'All Crohnies and relatives' but also people with ANY chronic condition, to learn to cope a bit better, by reading somebody else's story and knowing that you are not alone in this world. The book is priced at cost so it can get to as many people as possible, and it's also cheaper than any doctor visit or jar of tablets! An account of stories and poems describing growing up in the 1950's Mohill County Leitrim Ireland. The book is based on the writings of Paddy Prendergast in conjunction with his son Brian. It gives you an insight into growing up in a time gone by, when there were no gaming consoles or mobile phones, and when you went out to play, you were gone for the day, and only came home to get fed and watered. The book centres around the town of Mohill, Co. Leitrim, Ireland, and it's many characters over the years. Paddy has featured in the Leitrim Guardian, Leitrim Observer, and is a regular contributor to the Facebook group Old Mohill.
