Le titre de ce livre témoigne de mon conviction que la doctrine chrétienne est intimement liée à une pratique fidèle de la vie chrétienne. Ce livre présente les bases de la doctrine chrétienne, mais s'il ne la mettons pas en pratique, le livre sera dénué de sens. La doctrine chrétienne détermine l'identité et les actes des chrétiens. Certes, la notion de doctrine implique la foi, mais la doctrine représente bien plus qu'une simple foi en certaines choses. Le mot doctrine revêt des connotations froides et dures. Plusieurs personnes pensent qu'il s'agit d'une question de rigidité et de contrôle ou qu'il s'agit d'un domaine de connaissance inaccessible, hors de la portée du chrétien lambda. Mon objectif est de contribuer à réhabiliter le terme doctrine à travers ce livre, à démontrer qu'un bon enseignement chrétien peut nous aider à grandir dans la foi, à faire preuve d'amour et à envisager l'avenir avec espoir.-Tiré de l'introduction
