Arthur Achleitner (1858/1927) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller. Achleitner war der Sohn des Straubinger Stadtpfarrchoralisten Innozenz Achleitner. Dieser schickte seinen Sohn sehr früh aufs örtliche Gymnasium und auf die Universität in Salzburg, um ihm ein Lehramts-Studium zu ermöglichen. Nach dem Tod des Vaters brach Achleitner sein Studium sofort ab und bereiste fast ganz Europa. Aus dem Buch: "Schloß Ried mit seinen behäbigen Gebäuden beherbergt eine Brauerei, die ein anerkannt vorzügliches Produkt an zahlreiche Wirte der Seegegend wie tief hinein ins Gebirge bis zur Landesgrenze liefert. Einst fürstliches Eigentum, ging das große Anwesen mit bedeutendem Grundbesitz vor vielen Jahren durch Kauf an die Familie Tristner über, deren Haupt ein Fachmann auf dem Gebiete der Brauerei war und es verstand, nicht nur ein vortreffliches Bier zu erzeugen, sondern auch den Umsatz zu heben, so daß die Schloßbrauerei Ried sich eines allgemeinen guten Rufes im ganzen Bezirk erfreuen konnte und erklecklichen Nutzen abwarf. Wo früher jeglichem Sport gehuldigt wurde, entwickelte sich die rastlose Tätigkeit eines schlichten Bürgers und Brauers, der alltäglich Weib und Kind mahnte, einfachen Sinnes und arbeitsam zu bleiben."
