"This book explores non-Western approaches to foreign policy in the context of Iran in order to encourage wider consideration of non-Western scholarship in international relations. Throughout its existence IR has drawn primarily on Western thought and experience, leaving other perspectives on the periphery of discourse. As the field becomes more about contexts beyond the West, this has become a challenge for creating a truly 'global' field of study. Concepts like 'national interest,' 'rationality' and 'pragmatism' are often applied to Iran without considering what these concepts mean in the context of Iranian political identity. The aim of this book is to highlight the contemporary relevance of native Iranian and non-Western perspectives to IR analysis, returning complexity and critique to Iranian studies. To do this, the author examines four of Iran's political encounters with the West, including its resistance to sanctions policy and negotiations surrounding its nuclear program. Ultimately, the book argues that ignoring Iranian motivations of identity has routinely resulted in missed opportunities, growing tensions and failed coercive policy. The book will prove valuable reading for students and researchers interested in international relations theory, Iranian history and Middle East studies"

Why would the body of a dead truck driver who was drowned in Santa Monica, California, be found in a hotel parking lot in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho? There doesn't seem to be a rational reason for it, but Homicide Detectives Luke Falconer and Matt Greene have to find one. Since the hotel parking lot is attached to the York Minster Hotel, Gabriella Hunt's new hotel, they enlist her help, but finding a nexus for her hotel, Medford, Oregon, and Santa Monica, California proves to be very difficult. Throw in a suspected smuggling ring and a bar that's cheating the IRS, and it's no wonder the Feds have become involved and want Luke and Matt to drop the case. And what about the victim's Russian wife who has an authentic Fabergé egg and a lot of other expensive items in her display cabinet? Her husband was a truck driver, so where did the money come from? Lust, greed, love, and hatred are all on display in this fast-paced murder mystery. Each time you think you know who and why, there's another twist. Join Luke, Matt, and Gabriella on a roller coaster ride as they try to make sense of it all. Good thing there's Boris the Bulldog always waiting for them at the hotel when they return. This is the third book in the Gabriella Hunt Cozy Mystery Series by a USA Today Bestselling Author.

When the Head of Tourism in York is murdered, the city fathers are afraid that it will affect tourism in the city, which the city's economy is dependent on. The police make a quick arrest in order to assure tourists that they have nothing to fear when they come to York. It looks like the murder involved bribery and a civic scandal, and had nothing to do with tourists. When Ella meets up with an old friend of hers, who is now an investigative journalist looking into the murder, Ella becomes involved. Her involvement soon turns to fear, because she's certain the man she saw in the bar on the night the victim was killed is the hitman who killed her husband in Belize. Was it just a coincidence? Or is something far more sinister afoot? That's what Ella, the investigative journalist, and Fiona have to find out. But will they discover the truth before one of them becomes the hitman's next victim? Who will own those valuable rights? That's where the real money lies, and his will should certainly spell it out, shouldn't it? That would certainly be worth murdering for, wouldn't it?
