Everyone has a plan on how to raise a child until the unthinkable happens, and it shakes the foundation of your world. The plans that were made around raising a 'normal' child ended quicker than they began. In this transparent and honest lifestory, Ana Munoz shares her insights and faith in raising a daughter with Special Needs. Ana tells of the mountains that she has climbed to provide a world for her daughter that is filled with love and understanding. Giving birth to her has taken her on unexpected journeys of all the unknowns. Her daughter's life did not come with a manual, but it came with titbits of life lessons that she would not change in her world. Ana shares the lessons she's learned, perhaps the biggest being not to stereotype kids with special needs but to teach them that the sky is the limit. As she's watched her daughter grow, she's learned to celebrate the small beginnings. Small steps for others are big steps and even breakthroughs for her. These big steps have opened immense doors of opportunities on the island of Kauai with her peers and the community. Ana's hope in life is that her daughter knows that's she is perfectly loved, and that she has positively impacted those around her. It is time to come along on this journey with her. La Gestión del Conocimiento comprende el conjunto de estrategias, métodos, prácticas y herramientas que permiten identificar, crear, intercambiar y aplicar el conocimiento para lograr los objetivos de una organización, por lo que requiere de una iniciativa explícita para capturar, almacenar, compartir y aplicar los recursos de conocimiento existentes que promuevan el aprendizaje y la innovación. La educación es un elemento que se caracteriza por ser uno de los elementos primordiales de la gestión del conocimiento, ya que en él se forma el capital humano y se genera el conocimiento que soporta a la sociedad en general y en nuestro caso particular se encuentran los futuros trabajadores del conocimiento, específicamente en el área agrícola. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo proponer un modelo de la gestión del conocimiento para la enseñanza universitaria en el área de la agricultura, basado en ontologías. A través de la identificación del modelo de negocio, los procesos de negocio, el capital intelectual y las ontologías, se describe la relación entre cada una de las partes del modelo y se plantean los elementos tecnológicos que lo soportan.
