Tragically, she was very wrong, and Doris paid the ultimate price.

When a young Swedish woman named Annika Ostberg was incarcerated in the United States for participating in a double murder, her home country came to her defense. Even though they didn't have plenty of details on what really occurred in 1981, the citizens rallied together in order to get her released as soon as possible. She became a household name in her home country and a large number of the Swedish population saw her as someone who was wronged by the United States. Annika had been arrested for her involvement in a robbery gone awry. She was with her drug dealing boyfriend Bob Cox during a crime spree which left both a restauranteur and a sheriff deputy dead. But did Annika pull the trigger or was she an innocent bystander?
The couples who commit murder together are not so rare. Of course, there is always a leader and a follower in those instances. But what happens when the law enforcement cannot pinpoint the blame on a single person and determine which one was the killer and who was the accomplice? The case of Christina Marcum and her ex-fiance Jason Singleton is a perfect example because each of them put the blame on the other person. It is still unclear what exactly happened on that January night in 2011, but both are locked up and serving their sentences.
History shows us that men are most likely to commit heinous crimes but women are no strangers to violence either. Yes, they do not kill frequently and female killers do not engage in killing sprees so often. Instead, their crimes are driven by passion and sometimes even obsession with another person. They are not prone to selecting a random victim but would turn on their partners, friends, or family. Women are usually not killing for the thrill but they do so for their own personal gain, even if it seems illogical to a bystander. So as you may already know, whenever a body turns up somewhere, the police would immediately question the closest family members.Crystal Mae Wagner's case is intriguing because she managed to include a third man into the whole narrative and make him do the dirty job for her. The overly brutal killing and the disposal of the body shocked the Bibb County in Georgia. Luckily, Crystal Mae Wagner's body count didn't escalate and she was caught in time
Long before the Casey Anthony trial that captivated the nation at the end of the 2000s, there was a very famous case that strikes an incredible resemblance. The trial of Alice Crimmins was the main talk in the 1960s as it divided the country into two opposing sides. While the Casey Anthony trial was very straightforward because of the numerous evidence that pointed in the direction of her guilt, Alice Crimmins's case lacked the physical proof that could link the woman directly to the murders of her own kids. Regardless of this, the prosecution put her on trial, and they won. It was a different time when women and mothers were supposed to behave in an acceptable way. Alice didn't fit the norm, and she quickly rose up as the number one suspect even though it was unclear if she had any involvement in the deaths of her two kids. She was judged by everyone because of her lifestyle and the fact that she had an estranged husband. But was Alice Crimmins really guilty of the crimes? Or was the investigation sidetracked by the prejudice?
There are so many reasons why people become serial killers. However, it is quite uncommon to meet a murderer who is willing to share the sensitive information with the authorities in order to have some financial gain and risk getting caught. Exactly this happened with Robert Maury, a serial killer who would often call the anonymous witness hotline and reveal where his victims are buried in order to collect the reward. Perhaps he could have gotten away with it if he managed to control himself and report just one victim. But Maury got greedy, knowing that he could earn even more money from providing the information to the investigators. Thanks to the phone operators who found this man and his phone calls very suspicious, Robert Maury was held by the police and subsequently charged with multiple murders. It was after his third call to the witness hotline when the investigators decided to trail him and observe his behavior. He was on their radar prior to the arrest, but they couldn't find any physical evidence which could link him to the murders. The law enforcement managed to put an end to a dangerous man and his string of murders. Maury would clearly do anything in order to earn money and continue killing innocent victims all over the country.
When a person vanishes into thin air without any evidence or leads, the police are usually left helpless to search for answers. After some time these cases will become cold, and the families of the missing persons would lead their lives, hoping that one day their loved one will return or they might get some answers about what really happened to them. The family of Lynne Schulze went through the same thing because their daughter and sister vanished in 1971 and never came back.
Before the satanic panic of the mid-80s and the accusations of the sexual abuse within the institution, the Catholic Church managed to cover up a murder in Toledo, Ohio. It shouldn't come as a surprise because they were a very powerful organization back in the day and would do anything to save their reputation, including manipulation. The murder victim was a nun, and the only suspect - a priest. Knowing how the public would react if this got out to the media, the higher-ups from the Catholic Church stopped the investigation completely, removing the accused from the area. However, it took a single letter from 2003 for this case to be re-examined in a new light. And after more than two decades later, the justice was finally served.
This quiet suburban street looks like a normal New York suburb but Lutz family who were the main characters in The Amityville Horror book went through hell in their newly purchased dream home. The said house has a tragic history and Lutz family supposedly experienced it first hand. Yes, it was confirmed that the book featured plenty of false accounts and recollections, but it helped put Amityville on the map and the story soon became well-known throughout the United States and the rest of the world. However, not all scary stories are made up and there has to be something to them, right? The real events that occurred on a cold autumn day in November of 1974 at a lovely house on 112 Ocean Avenue were as chilling as the most intense work of fiction out there.
The world of professional bodybuilding is interesting and intriguing. It is more than just strong and muscular bodies. As a matter of fact, there are many hidden aspects of it which include the use of steroids and other dangerous substances. Kelly Ann Ryan was an all-American girl who started out as a gymnast trained by Béla Károlyi. Her interest in the sport led her to a very successful bodybuilding career...then murder.
