The two change agents that are standard across the world are religion and politics. One of the religious changes that has been happening historically, but even more so now, is the conversion of believers from from Islam to Christianity. This book is a compilation of those prominent "apostates" that rejected Islam to turn to other Christian faiths such as Orthodoxy, Catholicism, and Protestantism. We will looking at those individuals, who from the beginnings of the Islamic faith to the present day, have made changes that are personally affecting the Muslim world. This book looks at the lives of individuals who have given their lives and their hearts to a new faith in Christ. For over 1500 years, people in Muslim lands have been seeking what it means to have a belief in Christ. Some former Muslim become monks, some were glorified as "saints," but all were challenged to live and die for their newfound faith. Families were lost, friendships broken, and threats made to those that decided to follow Jesus. Understanding that Jesus was more than a prophet, they eagerly gave up nationality, economic livelihood, and even family to follow the truth that filled their hearts. This book traces the lineage of those converts both past and present as they became part of the community that we call, Christian. We will look at the individuals that crossed over to convert as well as the mass movements by ethnic groups, tribes, and nations to embrace the faith found in Christ. Each person highlighted in this book has a unique story to tell, with some being miraculous stories of God touching man, while others are stories of man touching man in the name of Christ through peace and compassion, lived and practiced. Some of the stories, such as the story of Esther John, will make you cry, while others, such as the Story of Sergio, will fill your heart for compassion for those that sacrificed all. You will be encouraged by the very words quoted from dying saints as well as living relatives that today are making a difference in the world around us. So, come explore with me as we once again find peace in the solace of knowing the God that never left them and that will God also will never leave us. He is a God of peace and forgiveness, and it is in that peace that we want to live. The examples that we will find in this book will inspire and challenge your beliefs.
As one ages as a pastor, minister, or missionary one would think that this would be a time of rest, comfort, and reflection. However, for a pastor who has cared for people all his life, this time of aging can be extremely troubling. Other professions get their worth from products produced, plans fulfilled, and money made, but the pastor finds his worth in people and their discipleship in Christ. This book explores the many facets of aging as a pastor, from the death and loss of a spouse to the loss of money and the loss of a vocation that one has pursued all of life. The book endeavors to view the aging pastor from the emotional, spiritual, and economic perspectives and offer solutions to replace the loss with gains and a new faith. Life is not over, just different. Life has not left you behind. God is still present and hope is ever-present from an early age to later elderly moments. This book finds a way to end well with a "well done good and faithful servant."
