The sequence of reading and study skills activities corresponds to the sequence of skills in the Reading Skills Check List and the Class Record of Reading Skills accompanying the activities, each of which is organized into two parts. Part One provides a summary of all of the basic vocabulary, word attack, and comprehension skills needed for effective basic reading. This may be used in the reading class or the English class to review the basic reading skills. Part Two presents comprehension, study skills, and creative reading skills that are more advanced or have a different emphasis. Part Two presupposes mastery of those skills in Part One. Both the Reading Skills Check List and the Class Record of Reading Skills may also be reproduced as many times as needed for use in monitoring individual and/or group progress in mastering specific reading and study skills.
