It is a place where you cannot defend yourself, nor do you see what is around you, because the object of your affection is in front of you."IN THE NEW TESTAMENT The first three pillars of the book of Revelation are a full circle. Pillar one a Revelation of Jesus Christ the Eternal One, will produce in us pillar two, a repentance which prepares our heart for pillar three, to worship. When we worship, we bow low and experience the fear the Lord, which brings you back to a place of repentance and seeing a revelation of Jesus as He is, the Eternal One coming in power. In the world of brass instrument players, many manias and diseases develop, such as Bell's palsy, oromandibular dystonia, bruxism, Satchmo syndrome, and stage anxiety. Wind instrumentalists are the most affected and represent 70% of patients in the profession. A 2009 study of 450 musicians from Argentina found that 53% had ever suffered injuries to muscles, tendons and joints, 22% due to trauma and 17% due to dystonia. Dystonia is a less frequent syndrome, but it also affects musicians, generating problems in the central nervous system, with involuntary movements triggered by a certain repetitive act. Oromandibular dystonia is a focal dystonia characterized by involuntary spasms of thethe masticatory, facial and lingual muscles. Different forms of oromandibular dystonia are distinguished: open, with lateral deviation and closed depending on the affected muscles.Oromandibular closure dystonia is caused byDystonic spasms of the temporalis muscles andmassetersMainly in this group suffer from problems in the muscles of the lips. Satchmo syndrome, which is a muscle tear due to the effort of said muscle to make the instrument sound.Oromandibular dystonia Disorders of the temporomandibular joint, whose symptoms increase especially during practice. Playing wind instruments damages the blood vessels in the brain. Like athletes, they require a regular and regular warm-up and especially in beginners. The coordination of the muscles of the face, lips and tongue helps to breathe! Knowing the correct way to warm up prevents medical sequelae, such as tears, and dramatically improves performance! Volume One is comprised of 300 progressive exercises that cover the keys of C Major, F Major, G Major, A Minor, D Minor and E Minor. Time signatures include 4/4 (Common Time), 3/4, 2/4, 6/8, and 2/2 (Cut Time). The remaining key signatures, additional time signatures and dynamics markings will be covered in future volumes. The exercises are all eight measures (two phrases, or one period) in length. While they are composed to be melodic and pleasant to the ear, they are also composed to be difficult to memorize, and utilize many rhythms that seem to be absent from other sight reading books. Instructions and a free preview are available in pdf form at the Robert Anthony Publishing website. Next, I have made the staff font slightly larger than standard. While this will largely go unnoticed in the printed version of this book, it should make the electronic versions significantly easier to read. Finally, there are many correct ways to use this book. The instructions and a preview in pdf form are posted on my website so that I can update the instructions as I discover additional strategies. For example, I sometimes receive emails in which people tell me how they like to use this book. My opinions will evolve the more I use this book to train my students, so I want the ability to easily update the instructions as needed. Music education today requires an approach rooted in care and kindness that coexists alongside the dismantling of systems that fail to serve our communities in higher education. An in-depth account of the Black locals within the American Federation of Musicians In the 1910s and 1920s, Black musicians organized more than fifty independent locals within the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) in an attempt to control audition criteria, set competitive wages, and secure a voice in national decision-making. Leta Miller follows the AFM's history of Black locals, which competed directly with white locals in the same territories, from their origins and successes in the 1920s through Depression-era crises to the fraught process of dismantling segregated AFM organizations in the 1960s and 70s. Like any union, Black AFM locals sought to ensure employment and competitive wages for members with always-evolving solutions to problems. Miller's account of these efforts includes the voices of the musicians themselves and interviews with former union members who took part in the difficult integration of Black and white locals. She also analyzes the fundamental question of how musicians benefitted from membership in a labor organization. Broad in scope and rich in detail, Union Divided illuminates the complex working world of unionized Black musicians and the AFM's journey to racial inclusion.
