That sums up the beginning of the State Capitols Project.When Jane Moorman told her brother of her idea of photographing state capitols, he said, "You do know there are 50 states and two of them you can't drive to."Her answer was, "Your point is? It gives me a good reason to visit every state."Each capitol has its own unique beauty that reflects the state's personality when it was built.Goddess Minerva is a reoccurring symbol throughout California's capitol. According to ancient Roman mythology, she was born fully grown. Her image symbolizes California's direct rise to statehood, since it was not a territory before becoming a state.

In 2022, Wilton Art(R) partnered with acclaimed photographer and Wilton Manors resident Sharron Demarest to create a bold, yet intimate, photographic montage of individuals who enrich the Wilton Manors community. wiltonproud.2022 presented photographic portraits of the diverse individuals that make up our city-those that live, work, eat and play in Wilton Manors. Their day-to-day lives may not intersect at first glance, but each is deeply woven into the fabric of City, creating a vivid tapestry of an inclusive, proud, and flourishing community. wiltonproud.2022 featured portraits of these individuals placed on posters throughout the city and each poster shared their unique "I am proud..." statement as well. A central City Hall installation anchored the project with large format posters on the front windows. Nearly 100 other posters were installed in business windows. The installation ran through June 2022 to coincide with the celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride Month. It reinforced that being proud has no boundaries, encouraged all to embrace pride together, and to listen and see the pride that makes up Wilton Manors. Now, we present that same project to you in book form, so you can take it home to be enjoyed over and over again from the comfort of your favorite reading chair.

I have restored and have enhanced every photo in this book quite carefully for this edition. There are still some heads in photos and hands in the air (one with a plaster cast... what was going on there? - Read on and find out). Some are a bit in the way, but that was a Slade gig for you.... You don't get lots of hands in the air at gigs nowadays. A bit sad, really... That is because YOU LOT wouldn't behave at shows. You (ok, WE) all went a bit mad for that hour and a bit. I am not going to apologise for you lot creating the atmosphere you did at the many gigs I went to - and some blur in some photos. The band also had a frustrating tendency to move about, too, most un-obliging of them, but never mind... Not all of the photos are perfectly in focus, because of all that movement and because of rapidly-changing stage lighting levels. They would not behave. But I did my best - and here's the result. I've had people contact me to tell me that they are in certain photos, which is great. I have removed some heads from shots. Sorry if I have decapitated you! The shows in these photos meant a lot to a few people, who saw them on the net, when I had them up. I hope that you like them too. CUM ON FEEL THE NOIZE and all that....

I like to take walks at Stone Mountain Park, near Atlanta and I fnd there is art and nature if you will just look for it and appreciate it for how simple it can be.
