With 'In Camera' Christiaens juxtaposes her own relationship, her own identity and her own images with those of her parents. In doing so, she calls into question the traditional relationship between men and woman and between photographer and model, both over time and within her own family history. Gazes cross and are reflected within the image, outside the image and through the image. It's about different perspectives in different times, about similarities and differences. It's about looking at ourselves, our bodies, our loved ones and others trough the eye of the camera. About exploring the different layers and histories these gazes hold-the gaze of the loved one, the gaze of an artist, the reflected gaze in the mirror-and how they help shape our identity, both within ourselves and through the other. (Stefan Vanthuyne)

Museum of Humanity organizes pop-up exhibitions with portraits and stories to make humanity shine - like masterpieces. As an invitation to get an eye for each other and to discover that everyone has the same basic needs. In this way we contribute to a world in which everyone feels seen.Museum of Humanity, based in the Netherlands, was founded in 2001 after a dream by photographer Ruben Timman about a dilapidated and dark museum. It is a metaphor for the state of the world and our humanity. That dream forms the starting point for portray humanity as dignified as possible. Over the past twenty years Museum of Humanity collected some eight thousand portraits of people all over the world. Timman and his team always photographs people in front of a black canvas, so that everyone comes into the picture equally - whether it is a wealthy businessman, a child or a person on the run. Since 2019, thousands of people have visited the permanent museum in Amsterdam and the various pop-up exhibitions in different countries. In recent years, more than five thousand students have also taken part in a teaching program of the School of Humanity educational branch. In a world in which people are increasingly opposed to each other rather than next to each other, the Museum of Humanity - always together with local partners - brings people together around the exhibitions. So that people from different worlds can see each other, learn from each other and see the other as a masterpiece.

One August morning at Marcinelle, Maurizio Galimberti pointed his camera upwards and for several hours shot the same subject, which turned out differently in each of the 262 images. One for each of the victims of the disaster that occurred on the morning of 8 August 1956 in the same Belgian mining town, claiming the lives of 262 miners. A photographer and artist of international renown, Maurizio Galimberti is famous for working almost exclusively with Polaroid, developing an extremely personal manipulation technique to deconstruct and reconstruct the image. In this new book, Galimberti tackles the terrible tragedy of Marcinelle, 66 years later: his ¿reuse¿ of images is intended to inform. He delves into what has already been pho[1]tographed to unearth a meaning that has remained buried, a soul within the mechanical body. He contextualizes, historicizes. And so the images pass before our eyes: a woman orphaned as a child; the face of another woman behind the bars that separate her from the tragic truth; the lined-up coffins; the poster to recruit mine workers; the miners¿ huts; the daunting elevator for descending into the depths of the earth. And, lastly, the portrait of Urbano Ciacci, the last survivor of the tragedy. Maurizio Galimberti (Como, 1956) has been active on the international art scene for over 30 years. He is world famous also for his portraits of stars like Lady Gaga, Robert De Niro and Johnny Depp. He was world testimonial for Polaroid International and critics now consider him an instant artist, rather than just a photographer.
The coronation of George VI on 12 May 1937 was one of the biggest media events of the interwar period. While other photographers focused on the new King, his family and the ceremonial splendour of the day, Henri Cartier-Bresson turned his lens on the crowds that gathered in the streets of London to watch the pageantry. In a witty reversal of the expected order of proceedings, he shows us ordinary people of all ages and walks of life, some climbing on monuments or each other¿s shoulders, others straining to get a better view with cardboard periscopes and mirrors on sticks. A few even slump on the ground, the festivities having proved too much. Presented alongside contemporary news clippings from around the world, these remarkable images reflect Cartier-Bresson¿s unmistakeable photographic eye and capture the British public at a unique historical moment.
In electrical and electronic systems, a ground noise is a sound interference, a stray noise considered as disturbance. Like a flying insect trapped in a lamp, it is a continuous rustle, a vibration that seeks to escape. Its presence is considered annoying, therefore one usually seeks to get rid of it. Insects and arthropods trigger atavistic reactions in us. Even dead and pinned under glass, a spider will be able to frighten, even for a moment, an adult human being. Admittedly, we have somehow tamed our fears towards them, through admiration (¿the incredible work of ants¿, ¿the beauty of butterflies¿) or recognition (¿the bees, our so useful nurturers¿), but this teeming fauna remains nonetheless mysterious, obscure, even unsettling. This work is extended by a conversation between Céline Clanet and eco-acoustician Jérôme Sueur, a specialist of the ¿melody of insects¿.
