Sunny DOES like cake and candles and dancing and presents, but they really, REALLY don't like wearing a dress . . . and for some reason, everyone seems to think that birthday parties mean wearing dresses. Frilly, scratchy, shiny dresses - no thank you! And that's not all! Because wherever they go, Sunny finds that people expect them to wear clothes that just don't feel right. A tutu for the dance show. A skirt for Christmas day. A tiara for Tilly's princess tea party. When Sunny is invited to be a bridesmaid, they think it will be the worst day ever. But then they meet Oliver, who understands exactly how Sunny feels. And together, the new friends hatch a plan that feels just right.

The Commandos stand out as an iconic and fascinating formation who will always be of interest to the reading public. Created in June 1940, just after the fall of France, the commandos were established as a small, elite raiding and reconnaissance force with the express intention of hitting back at the Germans when few alternatives were available. During the war the formation grew in size and complexity, taking part in the most dangerous and compelling actions, and making themselves indispensable.
Re-creating the Citadel and the Photographs of Kaveh Golestan is a political archaeology of a little-known crime committed in the early days of the nascent Islamic state in Iran in 1979. The starting point and artistic core of the book are sixty-one photographs taken between 1975 and 1977 by photographer Kaveh Golestan, who documented Tehran's red-light district a few years before it was violently set ablaze and wiped from the urban landscape and social memory. The book recovers the site and the social and spatial experiences associated with the area: its relationship to human life, the polis, social aesthetics, politics and dynamics, and the relationship between marginal and metropolitan citizenry. The project restores it to social memory and the public domain as a catalyzing moment in the establishment and preservation of a state-imposed project of violence against citizens and history itself. KAVEH GOLESTAN (1950-2003) was an Iranian photojournalist and artist. The first exhibition of the recovered material curated by Vali Mahlouji was showcased at the Foam Museum of Photography, Amsterdam (2014), and then traveled to the Musée d'art Moderne, Paris and MAXXI Museum, Rome (2014 2015). Consequently, the materials toured Photo London Fair (2015), Tate Modern, London (2017-18), Rohtas Gallery2, Lahore (2020), De le Warr Pavilion (2019), and Arnolfini (2019-2020). Tate Modern acquired the project in 2016.
This incisive volume offers fresh historical and constructive engagements with the ever fascinating and perplexing theological ethics of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Matthew Puffer examines the historical crises out of which Bonhoeffer composed the manuscripts that would become his posthumously published magnum opus, Ethics. He explores the ways in which Bonhoeffer understood his work as a response not only to the ecclesial, social, and political crises of Nazi Germany, but more specifically to a "crisis in ethics," the failure of traditional forms of ethics to effectively respond to the state of emergency. Bonhoeffer famously wrestles with novel proposals for how Christians should think about responsibility, complicity, culpability, and guilt in ways that have left not only casual readers but also philosophers and Bonhoeffer scholars scratching their heads. In these chapters, Matthew Puffer argues for a critical reconsideration of the ethics supposed to have informed Bonhoeffer's participation in German resistance, but also for an extension of Bonhoeffer's thought to the global, ecological, and intergenerational crises of ethics that we face today. An ethics of hope proves to be an essential and ineliminable feature of Bonhoeffer's thought, evident in his insistence that ethics is fundamentally about how coming generations will live. In Bonhoeffer we find fresh inspiration for contemporary debates regarding the meaning and political implications of human dignity, integrating the wellbeing of not-yet-existing future generations into the moral calculus regarding what it means to treat present day persons with dignity.
