Orpheus Rising is a sparkling immersion in adventures of great beauty, danger, and the unexpected, with a climax that will move anyone to a sense of joy. A daring retelling of the Orpheus legend in modern guise, Sam and his father, John, set off to rescue Sam's lost mother, Madelyn, from "The Far Land of Fear" and "Dread City", a startling, imaginative view of the afterlife. A fantasy set in terms of Sam's 10 going on 11 imagination, they are joined by Lepanto, a very wise Elephant who likes to dance, dressed in Edwardian elegance, through a series of adventures with a most unexpected ending. Children will enjoy the sheer inventiveness of the story-telling, and adults the unexpected depths of Sam and his father's journey to the completion of their hearts' desire... Lee is also a poet whose output has been called "visionary" "vibrant" "a voice beyond epoch" variously compared to Browning, Auden, and in its freedom, Neruda. A playwright too, he has brought characters to life as diverse as Rasputin and the last fox in Los Angeles... His texts of screenwriting and drama remain popular in their fields as well.

Folklore, fairy tales, myths and legends from East AfricaThe seemingly simple art of storytelling is incredibly important in African societies. Storytelling helps all societies to understand core elements in their lives such as religion, morals, history, purpose social norms. The collective nature of oral storytelling also helps to cement bonds among generations and family groups, and is significant in the way that it helps people to share experiences and ideas. As with so many cultures the storytellers of Eastern Africa recount tales of heroes and ancestors. These heroes and forebears continue to influence the lives of the living in very real ways.Oral traditions in East Africa cover both prose and verse forms, often portraying mythological or historical characters and can include tales of the trickster character. Storytellers in Africa sometimes use call-and-response techniques to tell their stories. Poetry, often sung, includes narrative epic, occupational verse, ritual verse, and praise poems of rulers and other prominent people. Praise singers, bards sometimes known as "griots", tell their stories with music. In general terms Africa has a hugely rich storytelling heritage. From Timbuktu alone, there are an estimated 300,000 or more manuscripts tucked away in various libraries and private collections, mostly written in Arabic but some in native languages such as Fula and Songhai. Many were written at the famous University of Timbuktu. The material covers a wide array of topics, including astronomy, poetry, law, history, faith, politics, and philosophy. The wonderous thing about such a rich heritage, and such a long history of finding compelling ways to interpret the world, is that it creates a massive melting pot of full of ideas. Just a few of those ideas are what we have here in this small collection. As ever it has been a delight to discover and work with these stories. I hope you enjoy them.

BEWARE OF THE FULL MOONPrince Rahmor Lupaster, 3rd son of Thutmose III18th DynastyMemphis, Egypt1479 BC to 1425 BC In his desire to protect a copper-haired slave who becomes queen, Prince Rahmor undergoes a secret, magical ritual that transforms him into an immortal shape-shifting beast. His love and admiration for this woman not only changes his life, but the consequences of that love carry through the ages to a contemporary copper-haired American woman. Krista HawthorneMarsh Springs, WVPresent Day After a devastating heartbreak, newspaper reporter Krista Hawthorne transfers from her native Arizona to a small Appalachian town in West Virginia, wanting only to live quietly, avoid romantic entanglements, and learn to trust again. But after several lonely weekends, she caves and accepts a dinner invitation. That night, after her date becomes demanding and belligerent, a bloodcurdling howl echoes through the mountains. Just as the full moon rises over the Lune River, a horrifying beast, wearing an Egyptian ankh medallion similar to the one Krista inherited, crashes through the forest and attacks. Krista escapes, but to her frustration, no one believes her story. Knowing the beast is still out there, she wants to flee the state, but the local sheriff and the DNR demand she stay for the investigation. She lives in terror, yet finds herself drawn to Sheriff Hugh Rawlins. A man of contradictions, he orders a drug test after hearing her description of the beast, then tenderly helps her through her recovery after the attack. He then forever changes both their lives when he helps her discover her true heritage and reveals why that creature let her live. FROM THE PAINTED TOMB blends magical realism, horror, and romance, layering the story of a contemporary woman who's afraid to trust again, and an immortal ancient Egyptian prince whose love for a copper-haired slave leads to deadly consequences that carry through the ages to a thirty-two-year-old copper-haired American woman. LITERARY TITAN'S GOLDEN BOOK AWARD Brenda Hill entices readers with her thrilling fantasy novel from the very start of the book. Such a gripping story I wanted to continue reading through the night but couldn't because it was too eerie. The author's writing is so refined that I was not able to predict how the story would end. Hill's writing flows effortlessly between Krista's ominous adventures while seamlessly blending Egyptian history throughout the alluring narrative. But a good mythical fantasy is only as good as its cast of characters and Brenda Hill has created some compelling if not relatable characters that I didn't even realize I was so invested in until I found myself biting my nails. "Krista's love interest brings a welcome complexity to the story. While her relationship unfolds throughout the story, the focus of the book never moves away from the enigmatic mystery that drives this spellbinding story forward. With relatable characters, an engaging paranormal plot, and a dash of romance, From The Painted Tomb will appeal to readers across genres."

They're young, in love, and not meant to be with each other very long. It started as a playlist. And then the story emerged. Each chapter in this novel originally were titles of songs by the German band 'Alphaville', then expanded to any one of its members' side or solo projects. Together, it tells a story of two art school students; so brilliant, so in love, so pressed for time. United, they achieve great and mysterious things. Apart, the sky and beyond, their only limit. It's a fable. Pro arts, pro-education, and not a gun in sight. It was my intention to write an anti-''Atlas Shrugged''. I don't believe I succeeded, but I had fun. Thematically, it is very true to its source material. This is something I'm very proud of. Sadly, two composers/musical directors whose works appear here passed away in 2014 and 2015; Martin Lister and Rainer Bloss. It was a sad couple of years. The playlist that accompanies this work is on YouTube, [hell, I put it there] under ''Traumenraketen Gold Collection", if available in your country. If not, you still have the list. This is my first novel. I had help who are yet to identify themselves.
