This is one of those rare gems of a book-like a burning bush you have to stop and see!" -Chad Taylor Author of Why Revival Still Tarries www.consumingfire.com
When you see someone standing on top of a hill or mountain, proud, euphoric and full of energy, you rarely consider all of the times they may have considered stopping, how they had to talk themselves into taking one more step or having to dig deeper than they even knew they went to find the answer to why they chose to scale the mountain in the first place. Yet without those moments, reaching the top of the hill wouldn't mean as much.Kenneth Pinckney, a motivational runner who has touched athletes and nonathlete hearts alike worldwide, has written an inspiring memoir sharing his life's journey and the paramount moments that forced him to let go of weighty baggage, conquer his fears, and develop new ways to encourage himself.Rarely do people lay their lives out in front of you in such a vulnerable and transparent way, but then how can you truly understand a victory unless you know where the battle began?Mr. Pinckney illustrates how the hills we climb in life can be embraced and used to aid us toward conquering our struggles; rejected and walked away from for our own health, or given a special place in our heart as we head for yet another, bigger hill all in an endeavor to become boundless.
People have a lot of experiences throughout their lives. Some are good, some are bad, and most have taught us valuable lessons about life and made us who and what we are today. One of the most enjoyable times in a person's life is sitting around talking with their old friends or family members and sharing their favorite life experiences. Everyone will laugh and cry and feel a special comfort in their souls knowing they shared these fond memories together. When my friends and family members read my stories, I know it will bring them this comfort because they lived it with me. When those who don't know me read my stories, I believe they will feel comfort, too, because I've always felt everyone has had similar life experiences and will relate to mine somehow. There are so many people in the world, but no matter who you are or where you live, when you share your stories with someone, you share your life and at least a small part of your heart and soul. That's what I hope I've done with mine.

2019 - I lost my husband. Jake truly was the love of my life; married for eleven years, together for twenty-four. Jake wasn't a sick person and shrugged off any minor illness.>It was unexpected and very almost destroyed me. My story, I believe, highlights not only how I reacted and dealt with the pain, but also how others reacted to both their own pain and mine. This is how I handled my own grief. It's not necessarily the right way or the wrong way, but it is how I managed the utter pain... mainly through good humour and bad decisions.

Parkour with Guitar is a loving tribute to the people, places and sounds that defined a generation.
I used to believe that hiding behind my pain would make it go away. For years, I brushed off my parents' divorce with a mere: "It-doesn't-really-bother-me" reaction, as I rationalized my abandonment in justifying "they did what they had to do." But I didn't want to admit that I never felt whole or grounded because of their separation. I was greatly impacted by their divorce and didn't realize it until years later. Unfortunately, this awareness came after me repeating many of their relational mistakes. But I can talk about that now without shame.I refuse to hide Behind The Face any longer. This book is an introvert's coming-out journey. It's a proclamation of sorts, that: "I am un-silencing me!" And the beauty behind unpacking all of your baggage is that you find your true self at the core of it all, which is the most significant piece of the puzzle. It is time to face your truths, uncover wounds, and heal.
Racing Through Paradise is the third entry in Bill Buckley's now classic sailing trilogy. It chronicles the author's four thousand-mile sailing voyage across the Pacific with four close friends, his son Christopher, and a photographer.
All the virtues of Bill Buckley's earlier books are here-but this one is profoundly different. The is completed (perhaps) the end of several affairs-and the capstone volume of a diarist-journal keeper-journalist, who has proved to be, over books at sea and on land (Cruising Speed, The Unmaking of a Mayor, Airborne, Atlantic High, Overdrive, Racing Through Paradise), both his own Boswell and Johnson.
