Warning: If you don't like nightmares and horror, then don't read this book.Dream and Nightmares of a Menopausal Woman is a collection of 157 extremely vivid dreams experienced over a two-year period. Normally, this would be nothing of great interest. But I am epileptic, and one of the causes of my seizures is hormones. During the hormonal imbalance of menopause, I was basically allergic to myself! I never knew what was going to come at me each time I shut my eyes for sleep. Often not wanting to sleep due to the nightmares that plagued me. Not all my dreams where nightmares. Some of my dreams were sexual, some hilarious, and some dotted with celebrities. A very unique read that also includes nineteen illustrations."Unique and interesting opportunity to see the perspective of a woman going through quite a difficult menopause. Thankfully, menopause ends."-Shelia Schwartz"This adventure of a dream series journal, so wonderfully recalled, recorded and recounted in amazing detail, is a delightful and amusing experience. This book is a virtual 'smorgasbord' for dream and sleep researchers alike, who may find it an in depth challenge to interpret such. This book gives a whole new meaning to the words: pillow talk. Most delightful, Bambi Davis!"-Cheryl A. Hartwel

The Memoirs of a Few narrates a series of events that happened in the life of a few people with unique perspectives towards life. These narratives uncover the saga of a Brahmin family with a long history of migration. Keerthi, several generations down the line of the migrated group of Brahmins, believes, like his predecessors, that he is just one among the group who follow a particular pattern of living that cannot be related to a religion. Bashful by nature with repressed feelings, he is unaware that the psychological stress caused by the separation from his mother in childhood and his weakness for listening to tales of misery suffered by his forefathers were triggering delusions and transforming him into a different personality. Into his life walks Samanta, a Greek who migrated to the US and has a history of unpleasant memories of her tumultuous teenage years. They become good friends and, later, life partners. Alamelu, his mother, born into a wealthy family, is a strong woman who does not like wealth and comforts and lives a kind of austere life. She is not an atheist but has shunned age-old practices. She believes that problems are mind's creations and that we alone are responsible for our misery. She is impervious to the spirit behind beliefs and scriptures and thinks that they form a road to escape the reality of life. Narayana, his father, an upright man of few words and strong convictions, believes that spirituality is the only rudder to hold when sinking in the deep waters of misery. He thinks that rituals bring people down to a mere instinctive level and remove the beauty of philosophy. However, the philosophical outlook of Keerthi's parents receives a blow when a rare form of amnesia leaves Keerthi unable to recognize his parents' faces. By the time he recovers, his father is no more, and his mother has retreated into seclusion - retreated not out of despair but of a desire to renounce everything she cherished before being stripped of it by fate. Of late, Keerthi is getting tough like his mother...... The Memoirs of a Few engages with the question of faith and rationality from the experiences of a few characters in their life. Read here how the lives of the characters in the memoir unfold ............

Jahrhundert.

"Your dad has given you away," his stepmother said with a sinister smile. These haunting words would follow young Olan for the rest of his life. At nine years of age, he wondered, "Can your daddy really give you away?" Can he do that? He would soon discover that he could, and he did. His life was about to change forever. In Given Away, a book made available through Authors Tranquility Press, Olan Hill, Jr. shares his true life story, revealing the depth of pain and hardship, adventure and triumph he finds throughout his life.October in California can at times seem bleak. As Olan came walking home from school on that dark day, he discovered all his belongings carefully packed into a small cardboard box. The box was sitting on the front porch of that little clapboard house where he lived, in Bean Town (a community just outside Clovis, California). Climbing the steps that day, his mind spun with curiosity. With the heartbreaking news that his father had given him away, he was soon to be in a faraway place, some 1500 miles away. Given Away reveals his struggles, hopes and dreams. In writing this book, the author does not blame anyone for what happened to him. He does not write with anger or hatred; he only wants to tell his story as he experienced it - the good, bad and indifferent. Given Away also tells of the author's ancestral tree, sharing the many stories of his grandparents during the difficult days of the great depression.

Written in 1970, this unique travelogue looks back on an enigmatic Englishman's travels through post-war Europe, as both author and continent search for identity. The most pleasant and inspiring of travel companions, Gordon gives us period photographs, and contemporary View-Master images as he attempts to answer the age-old question "Why do we travel?" Whether he is writing about his curious bookshop in Bath, his even more mysterious employer, the highs and lows of continental cuisine, architecture, space travel or the rebuilding of East and West, Gordon Nicholas's erudite yet almost boyish immersion into his surroundings is inspiring and revealing. After seventy years his voice is as immediate and engaging as it would have been in the 1950s when his journal begins; his dry, sometimes mischievous, often self-deprecating humour will make you smile; and his ambitious politics of hope might be just the antidote we need in 2024.This edition is enhanced by contemporary additions from the author's son, who followed half a century later in his father's footsteps; a multi-layering of historical perspectives that at key moments almost evolves into a conversation with a much admired, much-missed and much-loved father."Gordon not only opens the eyes of readers around the world to a sense of adventure, but also to a better understanding of what it truly means to be a citizen of the world."

Yesterday seemed so long ago, and then I remembered. It's in writing, my writings. Growing up in a small northern Michigan town, graduating high school in the mid-fifties, writing has always intrigued me. In my late twenties the opportunity to write a weekly column in the local newspaper was a wonderful gift from the editor. From then on it was a thought here, a memory there; jot it down for later. A sixty-two-year marriage, three sons, two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, owning and operating a Hallmark shop, raising sheep, living on a small farm what's not to write about? Think of the opportunity to lead our church's choir for twenty-nine years without a formal music education; later becoming a lay speaker in our denomination. I never imagined a book would become a gathering place for my memories. There are a long line of yesterday's, waiting in this book. I hope you'll read and enjoy them with me.

The One who gave her a song that reignited the warrior within. How do you learn to trust God completely when you're afraid He'll abandon you? If you want to rise from the ashes of your past and reignite the warrior within, this book is for you.

With each passing year, I have become more concerned with legacy. I hope those who care will find herein a few gems of wisdom, perhaps profit from some of my experiences, and smile at some of my memories. My hope is that these pages, along with my chosen quotations, will motivate you to live well, learn wisely, do good things, and be inspired to write your own history. Your story must be told or be lost to the sands of time. From my experience, just the writing of it is worth the effort, even if you are the only one to read it.

I couldn't wait to begin my teaching career. I had always been captivated by children's imaginations and their inquisitive spirits.... Their eagerness to learn. Teaching new skills to entire classrooms of students was an exciting opportunity.I'm just a short while, I realized that it wasn't just me who was the teacher. As I shared in these children's daily lives, I also shared their hearts. They began teaching me life lessons, so I wrote this book to share these children's spirits with others. My hope is that my readers will laugh, will cry, and will see the world through the heart of a child. I challenge those who may be entering the teaching profession to be receptive to all that their own "little teachers" can teach them about life, the heart of a child, and how to make a difference in their lives.
