Heart Life Music shares the stories of a kid from small town East Tennessee with a dream fueled by the sports and music around him. When high school football came to an end, he knew there must be something more. In college, Kenny Chesney found himself on a barstool with a guitar and an unexpected connection between people, life, and songs. His heart caught fire. With Nashville's vibrant creative scene, characters, legends, and places now long gone from the city he encountered in those early days, Chesney explores the quest to find himself as an artist and a man, as well as a sense of home anywhere there's an ocean. These are the stories of the unlikely game changer who became the sound of coming of age in the 21st century, made friends with his heroes, rocked stadiums, and founded a No Shoes Nation.

"A poignant, eye-opening portrait of a witness to the atomic bomb who dedicated his life to treating and advocating for radiation survivors. As a young doctor, Shuntaro Hida (1917-2017) played an essential role in the aftermath of the Hiroshima bombing, which he witnessed firsthand only 6 kilometers from ground zero. Tending to the overwhelming number of victims, he would spend more than 60 years developing an unparalleled understanding of the harmful effects of radiation and warning against the reckless use of nuclear power"--
I could've died a thousand times. People were out to get me, as they always are when you run the show. It's kind of silly that it's cancer that's going to get me, but now I know the end's not going to come from a sudden bullet to the skull one night, at least I have enough time to tell my story. It's a story that would have had me locked up long ago, if anyone knew I was at the top.It all started innocently enough, with a few smash-and-grabs and some card games, but then moved into armed robbery and then eventually drugs. And that's when things changed. When the money came rolling in. When we would do anything to hold onto power. This is my last confession. A way to atone for what I've done. Let it be a lesson to you.
In my long, adventurous life, I have been through heaven, and hell. Yet, I am still alive and live with hope. Wondering Why? Because I am Iranian! From the dawn of history Iranian women had equal rights with men. They fought in wars, became generals and queens. Iran, during its long history was conquered by Eskandar, the Arabs, the Mongol Genghis Khan and many more. Yet not only its culture and the dignified resilience of its people survived, it acculturated its conquerors. Then, with the passage of time the west's imperialism changed everything, making Iran geographically of paramount importance in their race for dominance. Thus Russia, Britania, later the United States and now China began their so-called diplomatic endeavours to swallow Iran. What they did, how they tried to do it and what is happening now are found in the books I have written. My aim in writing these books is to bring to the awareness of my readers that none of the powerful nations care about democracy nor a peaceful existence in our world. Hence, each nation, should safe-guard its culture, interest, safety with wisdom and without prejudice as we are all children of the same God. Saadi, the renowned Iranian poet says: 'Human beings are part of each other, In, creation, of the same essence. If one is in pain, the others cannot remain painless. If one remains unaffected by other's ache, one cannot be called a human.'
O'Brien's second biography of British Prime Minister David Lloyd George's wife Margaret serves as a prequel to his first volume, The Campaigns of Margaret Lloyd George: The Wife of the Prime Minister 1916-1922 (Y Lolfa, 2022), which focused on her campaigns during the 1918-1922 peacetime Coalition Government led by her husband. Similarly based on research in the unpublished archive of letters and speeches belonging to his grandfather the Revd. J T Rhys, former private secretary to Margaret Lloyd George at 10 Downing St, this book describes her six major campaigns during WWI: for her Welsh Troops Fund; the British & Foreign Sailors' Society; Welsh Army recruitment; Food & Home Economy; Temperance; Health & Social Welfare. It also looks at her ongoing campaigning for opportunities for women, for churches, and for Wales.
