Theatricality and the Arts presents a series of investigations of the notion of 'theatricality'. Primarily, theatricality is associated with theatre, but the term has always carried with it the potentially pejorative connotations of exaggeration and fakery, associations which are questioned and contested throughout this collection. Divided into four sections, fifteen chapters provide a comprehensive interrogation of theatricality. Beginning with multimedia, theatricality is examined in relation to mixed modes of media (internet art, painting, performance and digital display). The second section interrogates theatricality through a philosophical lens, followed by an investigation into the historical contexts of art, photography and other media in the third section. The final section features reflections on theatre and cinema, often in conjunction. Considered as a whole, the collection contributes to debates on theatricality in various fields, while also enabling a thorough cross-examination of the topic. Native Americans in the United States, similar to other indigenous people, created political, economic, and social movements to meet and adjust to major changes that impacted their cultures. For centuries, Native Americans dealt with the onslaught of non-Indian land claims, the appropriation of their homelands, and the destruction of their ways of life. Through various movements, Native Americans accepted, rejected, or accommodated themselves to the nontraditional worldviews of the colonizers and their policies. The Historical Dictionary of Native American Movements is designed to provide a useful reference for students and scholars to consult on topics dealing with key movements, organizations, leadership strategies, and the major issues these groups confronted.Historical Dictionary of Native American Movements, Third Edition contains a chronology, an introduction, appendixes, and an extensive bibliography. The dictionary section has over 300 cross-referenced entries on Native Americans. This book is an excellent resource for students, researchers, and anyone wanting to know more about Native Americans.

The authors of INLAND FISHES AND FISHERIES OF NAMIBIA are scientists with many years of experience in their fields of work and research. Some were my students when I was a Lecturer of Zoology at Stellenbosch University many years ago. Some were members of my staff here in Namibia while I was Director of Fisheries and later Executive Director (Permanent Secretary) of the MFMR. There are no other scientists cum authors better equipped for the task of offering a high quality overview covering the freshwater fishes of Namibia and related issues linked to this subject. This book is a groundbreaking, first of its kind for Namibia, a scientifically orientated record of the topic of freshwater fish in our country. However, at the same time, it has been written in such a way that it also offers a leisurely journey for the layman wishing to increase general knowledge about Namibia's freshwater fishes.Dr. Jan Jurgens, Windhoek June 2023
