Inconsiderate actions toward a mysterious old lady frees an unwanted entity that was subdued within her for unexplained reasons. Now this unknown entity's main purpose is to cripple the existence of life by abducting innocent lives on the day they were born and disband the process which led to the uprising of Omniscient-the All Knowing and Guardian over each divine purpose.Norelle mourns the loss of her friend Cardi, who was the first to be abducted by this entity during a surprise birthday party. Mentally tormented by this unforeseen event, Norelle embraced a journey tailored genetically for her bloodline and soon realizes the responsibility she elected-she could not face alone. So she pursued help from her friends Megan, Tracy, and Cory-with the aid of a unique armor designed for this purpose-to arrange a plan that would put an end to this dreadful curse. However, she and her friends may have taken on more than what the rules will allow them to bear. Unless these warriors can discover the problem that's blocking the uprising from occurring, they will continue to experience a span of random manipulations.
For a deaf infant, the harsh reality is that his or her life will be dramatically impacted by the decisions and choices made by his or her parents. If the parents are deaf, then it is likely that infant will be immersed within the deaf ways and community where silence is cherished and sign language is used as a main communication mode. Whereas if the parents are hearing, then it is likely that infant will be immersed with the hearing ways and community focusing mainly on oral education with or without the assistance of sign language. As these children grow up, they are able to make their own decisions and may choose to continue or discontinue the modes of communication that their parents chose for them. For example, I have seen many choose to learn sign language later in life simply to become more themselves and be part of the deaf community. This emergence of becoming yourself is when the deaf person is able to spread his or her wings by making his or her own decisions about what path their lives will take by choosing their communication mode and affinity to a community and/or individuality. This process is like a caterpillar breaking out of its cocoon, spreading its wings as a butterfly, and showing its beauty and strength to fly and take on this world. Hearing loss can be a blessing and a curse for someone’s life journey. This emergence story is my story.
This is an incredible true story of the survival of an orphan who, lured by the power of knowledge, went on to achieve his life's dream of becoming one of the highly educated of his time, despite all odds. The story starts when he lost his father-the only person he had-at the age of seven. He hardly knew his mother who died earlier when he was barely four. Suddenly he was alone and his tearful childhood journey through life smacked of nothing but a miracle.Because the individual doesn't exist in a vacuum, the story of this orphan is also that of his culture and custom at the time; understanding both brings to life the enormous suffering and difficulty he endured and makes the reader appreciate more his amazing and unique story. Also, pity and anxiety to know what comes next for the little orphan create an inescapable suspense that glues the reader to the pages till the end. And, because it is the story of life and living, there is abundance of human emotions, tears, joy, sadness, humor, and brief moments of innocent love, to mention just a few, that keep the narrative alive to the last page-the last line. Amazing!
Empress sat in her thoughts for days wondering if she would ever escape the prison that she had created for herself. It was as though she could see the jail bars, smell the stench of loneliness, feel the hunger of lonely prison nights, and yet all Empress wanted was freedom, freedom from sadness, fear, heartaches, and ultimately her own self. For Empress, the journey could only begin once she unveiled the truths that she tried to run away from.
Everyone needs encouragement sometimes. These writings were penned out of my situations and thoughts. When I started sharing them with others, their comments on how they encouraged them were overwhelming. I was encouraged by so many to write a book. The more I thought about it, the more it became a reality to me.One day, as I was sharing some of the writings with a friend, as he was reading his facial expression changed, he looked at me and asked, "Why are you letting all this talent go to waste? Others can surely benefit from your writings."I took his encouragement to heart.
Life can be unpredictable, and no matter how much you try preparing, there are some events that will still take you by surprise. There are some things that you will never see coming such as abuse, betrayal of trust, and major loss of material things. No matter how much you may think you have things figured out, God has a way of reminding you that your plans may not be his way. Therefore, he allows you to go through trials and misfortunes to get your attention. Some are quick learners and get on track. Others, such as myself, may need reminding every once in a while. And even when reality sets in, the truth can be hard to face; but in the end, the truth will be the only thing that can and will set you free.Know that growth is essential, but it is the journey of growth that makes all the difference. Life can lead you to become bitter, angry, and resentful; or it can lead you to be open, caring, forgiving, and loving. Whatever direction it takes you, understand that you can get through anything that may be thrown your way.
